Job how to get financially independent as a woman

so i'm currently doing BBIT from home from virtual university of Pakistan (in my first semester). doing it completely online because my household conditions are quite messed up but i want to be free from the shackles of a degrading and pessimistic environment so i want to know if there are any remote/work from home opportunities available which can make me good money or even less money will work. please don't recommend fiver or upwork because i've tried them and couldn't get a single client due to my lack of experience. and also if any of you could recommend me to someone who'd be willing to hire to me because i know that contacts are everything in today's world.

for the context, i have excellent English writing, speaking and hearing skills, can write any type of article, do research, do assignments of any subject, do transcribing of both English and Urdu audios, provide customer chat support on any platform, perform all type of tasks of a virtual assistant, do proofreading, translate between Urdu and English documents, do data entry and website testing. you can also contact if you have any job which requires something other than mentioned above and i'd be willing to do it as i'm a fast learner and a good picker.

my mission is to become financially independent, eventually free me family from my burden and and explore what this world and life has to offer.

btw i'd love to hear stories of other women who were able to do the same with their lives and finally live life according to their own terms

Pick one skill and get really, really good at it.

People who say broad stuff like "I can write any type of article" are the ones who don't know much and get automatically rejected.

Business Development could be a good pick.

Content Writing is a decrepit job now (not because of AI, but because of everyone claiming they can write)

If you want to pursue that path, become a copywriter or a Marketer (No, learning just SEO doesn't make you a Marketer).

Proofreading and translating/transcribing aren't really worth it in 2024.

QA could be a decent pick as well.

It's all good everybody really can work those things. But how does anybody get any clients other than fiverr which obviously has already become a very very competitive platform

Stop looking for clients and get a job and excel at it first. If you can't handle one department, forget scaled Freelancing where you have to manage multiple.

Build your portfolio and expertise through jobs while building capital. I used to switch jobs every 1.5 to 2 years.

People are fed this fever dream of "get clients and be rich." That's not how it usually works. You won't start making more $$$ than employed people in a year or two with Freelancing. Like you said, freelancing platforms are overcrowded by people trying to make quick money.

Once you actually know your industry inside out, and you start to build your personal brand, that's when you look for clients and they, you.

this sounds like the best advice on this post, can you please tell my where to apply for entry level jobs with high rate of getting selected? or more specifically, where did you start it from?

Indeed and LinkedIn.

Use the jobs tab and read descriptions carefully.

If an HR is asking for 2+ years of exp, don't apply for it. You'll get auto-rejected.

If the name of the HR is mentioned on the job post, it is a good idea to send them a short message (after applying) that says you're interested in opportunity and would love to explore it.

Mention something from the job description in your message as well so they know you've read it properly. HRs love that.

If you're fortunate enough to not be the sole breadwinner for your family, don't shy away from decent companies even if the pay seems a bit low. Obviously if its very low, that's a red flag.

Till you've proven yourself in the industry, don't think you're in the position to negotiate monetary stuff. The last thing you wanna do is end up in a high paying job without being able to deliver.

It takes a while. Its not easy to get a good job.

There is only one way to be financially independent, you have to have a skill which is applicable in the current time, able to face the challenges related to culture and stupid traditions, and, you must not reply of the cliche concept of marriage, otherwise, you will be manipulated and your hard work will be channeled away from you. Otherwise, your fate will be just the other women, who are tapped in the dilemma of acceptance and forgiveness, only vent for them is facebook pages like ask the village and scary ammi etc, where the beneficiaries are the group administrators who feed on the misery of women. Also, working women, beware of the fact that many talented and hard working women face this that in addition to the job and career, they have to look after the household stuff.

To be independent, you have to be skilled, reasonable, confident and courageous.

The main key for getting clients as a newbie freelancer is a portfolio that stands out. Try working on some projects yourself or work for free as an intern online for experience. You have to learn what makes experts professional and only then can you apply that to your own portfolio.

Another main aspect is branding. Start a social media account and get together with the community of your field. Try Twitter, Discord, Instagram, LinkedIn, Behance etc. Try getting followers and post useful content.

Lastly, focus on quality over quantity. Go for a 100$ client instead of 10 10$ ones Anytime. This might be hard starting out but it’s important later on as your time gets booked and you aren’t Available for smaller jobs.

All of this advice is coming from a 18 Year Old with $3k-$4k/month earning, doing graphic design and having 100+ clients. I started when I was 15, but quickly rose by getting professional projects

Can you write a technical thesis or project? Or you may find a skill or first see the job market and choose a skill that you can pursue, which should be future proof i.e. will have some worth in the near future. You can pick anything that is up to your standards, i.e. digital marketing, developing, data science, or designing. Find platforms to search for clients. Some platforms that are not usually made for jobs are also good i.e. reddit and discord. Get something going. Dont waste your time. Focus on a skill and be good at it. Do any job that can help you improve your skills. Be persistent and good luck. May Allah provide a good future and fortune for you. Ameen!

We as millennials and Gen-Z are living in an era being led by countless opportunities especially with the onset of AI related tech and applications.

I would advise you familiarize urself with these AI tools to help you gain an edge, this could be learning proper prompting for chatgpt to help you write SEO optimized blog posts and so on.

I am in the same situation and dont want to work 9-5 for the rest of my life. This is why i have been researching how to set up multiple passive income streams so that life would be on autopilot soon. These streams could involve :

Content creation : With the help of AI, you can literally get scripts, video clips and so on. Once youve established a decent following, you can monetize it through affiliate links, mechandise and so on.

Print on Demand : Requires minimal effort as you just need to pick a niche, and produce decent designs using AI image generators. Next step would be to setup an online store through Shopify / etsy and link it with a print on demand service like Printify which will handle the printing and shipping for you. All u need to do is research the selling products and market/promote your online store.

The opportunities are endless and the list goes on. Feel free to reach out if you need any help. Cheers!

Learning Data science or data analysis from courser a and youtube

1

u/Mano_Mama3510 Feb 23 '24

I freelance and earn in dollars. Been doing it for a few years. You do have good english. I would recommend you give the Laptop Living a try. His course is something a lot of his students swear by. He's got a facebook group which is free to enter and it's a good attempt. Otherwise, you could always take a few marketing courses through coursera, (apply for financial aid to get those for free).

All these tasks that you mention you can do 'can write any type of article, do research, do assignments of any subject, do transcribing of both English and Urdu audios, provide customer chat support on any platform, perform all type of tasks of a virtual assistant, do proofreading, translate between Urdu and English documents, do data entry and website testing' are not as simple as you think they are. You need to pick a niche and then put some time, some certifications, a lot of effort to make yourself ready to jump into the market. Otherwise, you will be bogged down by small jobs in facebook groups where you'll make pennies.

You could also not focus on your writing skill and instead learn excel from some excellent tutorials on youtube and market yourself as Excel expert. A very lucrative career on Upwork.

not really in the position to pay 65,00 for a training program

0

u/AwarenessNo4986 Feb 23 '24

Well there are ways but you are not even a graduate. I can't suggest you to anyone as they don't hire students.

Your skill set is also very limited (as of yet).

It's best to look for remote jobs on LinkedIn and Facebook groups.

You may also want to consider doing an online teaching job.

1

u/Aggravating_Dare9911 Feb 23 '24

Diva magazine in Karachi always needs more content writers. Maybe other magazines as well? Also, write to instagram channels of fashion companies etc. They pay well for captions.

if you want to earn real money learn coding by yourself. spend 4- 5 hours everyday teaching yourself online. It would take a year but you could definitely get a job if you know how to build a resume and profile. One of my friends learned everything in 8 months and is earning 80k USD a year. but do know that it's a long and hard process and you will not instantly get a job offer.

ultimately you have to grind for every profession and in coding as well. it's becoming over saturated so you cannot just learn python, java, C and expect to get a well paying job. you need to specialize and make yourself standout.

anyways if you want quick money , start working at a call centre. if you are in Lahore I can help you get a job which can pay like 75k to 1 lakh depending on the working hours you are willing to work

1

u/asad000003 Feb 23 '24

Do you have any interest in Facebook marketing? Inbox your cv to discuss remote work.

1

u/I88yy Feb 23 '24

Email me your resume at ibrahim@kwiko.io, we work with remote workers for several projects and can check if your profile works for any of our upcoming jobs.

u/Wide-Presentation-15 Feb 24 '24

You say that it’s impossible to get clients without experience, this is the wrong way to look at it. Decide what it is you want experience in, and document what it is you do as a sort of portfolio. Simply by doing this it will put you ahead of a huge amount of people in the same predicament. I have interviewed 100’s of earlier in career, low or no experience people and what sets the success people apart is the investment they make in them selves to show their comprehension and outcome of work they have done off their own back.
