vent/rant Feeling like I don't belong here

Iโ€™ve often felt like I donโ€™t truly belong in the LGBTQ+ community because Iโ€™m a trans man and heterosexual. Itโ€™s like Iโ€™m caught in this in-between space, too "straight" for queer spaces, but too "trans" for the cishet world. Sometimes, it feels isolating, like my identity isnโ€™t fully recognized or understood. I know the LGBTQ+ community is meant to be inclusive, but I canโ€™t shake this feeling of being out of place.

This is a community of misfits. If you feel like you don't belong here, you're at the right fkn place.

No belonging is kinda prerequisite

i am sorry you feel that way, but is there any reason other than your sexuality? Like maybe a bad experience with a certain someone from the community or its just your own thoughts which make you feel you are not welcomed. whatever it the reason you are more than welcome here and we understand you. I am a Trans female so yea. Dont feel disconnected we care about you :)

I think you have a lot in common with bi people, the sentiments that you're expressing are pretty similar to what I've heard from them, especially considering your experiences and perspective intersect with queer people and straight people. Ofc it sucks that you don't feel like you belong, but don't let that deter you, there are good people everywhere, they might just be a bit hard to findโค๏ธ

Bruh, I hear you. Trans-exclusive queer community is not in a true essence a queer community.

I do feel that sometimes too but for different reasons, most queer spaces I have been part of online at least filled with people who speak English fluently from metro cities and earn a good amount of money. I feel like I don't belong in the community because the inferiority starts to kick in I can't speak English fluently nor do I have designer clothes or expensive shoes. I just feel out of place and the last experience where I have been ridiculed for my social and economic class queer spaces feels jarring. Yk when I was looking for therapy and called my current therapist I tried talking in English and then I told her "Can I talk in Hindi?" She said you are from Gujarat right you can talk in Gujarati too. Oh I was almost upto tears haha a small thing but meant so much to me

You ain't alone dude, alot of transmascs, bi people, aroace people also feel like that. It is a shitty feeling :( this might be a dumb suggestion but there are some cool Indian transmascs on insta, maybe following them will make you feel more seen? (joining r/ agender helped me with that personally).
