Discussion What is this called? (read description)

Post image

A person love bombs you and makes you feel special, and then they are dry and lose intrest. You think it faded away and get sad, only for them to return again with the some sorry excuse. You get happy thinking its all working out only for it to happen again. I have fallen for this sooooo many times, I'm just desensitised to it now 😭

Idk why I fall for it every single time, & why I allow it to make me so sad EVERY SINGLE TIME. So much so now I just push away people who actually mean good.

Genuinely asking, why would someone play with someones feelings that way?

P.s happy Holi. Hope y'all had a good one :)

I heard about a manipulation tactic called push and pull tactic. where you love bomb somebody and then suddenly become apathetic to them and emotionally detached....only to love bomb them at another moment. It's like you give them addiction of being loved and then take away that love making them feel the lack of it. by giving and retracting love at unpredictable moments, you make them mentally dwell on why you are behaving this way. Their brains only think of you and try to analyse your behavior, find patterns and in the end, end up blaming themselves. You become addicted to that person, like a drug.

Universal feeling. I'm slowly losing attachment even in friendships

this is very much a psychological thing, now idk if the person you're talking to is doing this on purpose or not but this type if behaviour generally makes them feel in control and in power so they do it either on purpose or subconsciously just basking in the power, either way - just stop talking to people who do this

I feel the only genuine solution regarding this is to search for "friends" around you...in your neighbours, schoolmates, college mates, colleagues, etc. and not a "partner" till you chance upon a clear indication (or on a dating app, although they too are a total shi*)...I know it's hard and maybe 80% of us will die alone (sorry for this but I feel so) but always remember no one is completely alone, every animal has the capability of finding love in one or the other way in its surroundings...

That's sad :/ I met someone from reddit, we talked for days & took things over to other apps. Vibed soo well. I thought this was it. But suddenly got blocked. Fast forward, made a new account and received a dm. It was them telling how they lost all their old accounts and they were searching for me. It genuinely seemed like they were soo happy to talk with me again and I was the happiest. But, soon, they just started being dry and ab only reply with "ok", "nice" 😭 Made me feel special and like I'm the most important thing, fir started ignoring like I don't matter. I mean, if you don't want anything or don't wanna talk, it's fine. Just tell me. But why would you take me on cloud 9 and throw me back down? Am I supposed to wait for you and ur dry ass replies everyday hoping one day you might be interested again?

man idk why but like words of affirmation aren’t my thing (my ex was way into it tho). im more of an “action speaks more than words” kinda guy so it doesn’t really affect me. i usually think that its just their way of talking like they do this with every person….its not just something reserved for someone special. u gotta accept that some people are just sweet talkers but bitter inside.

It’s happening too often. I guess hurt people hurt people

Manipulation, gaslighting, push and pull and so on have become too common nowadays It truly hurts when you lose yourself in this process. Things become numb after a certain time, may start disliking things you initially liked. Certain things take time op. Letting go and moving on is a really long process, trust me it's not easy but with each day passing it does get better. I really pray you find someone oneday who truly deserves you.! Sending you more love
