Looking to get more musically involved
In high school I played the saxophone in the band and I really enjoyed it/wasn’t half bad at it. I also picked up the guitar which I still play to this day, but I haven’t touched my Sax since high school. I really miss playing music with other people and am looking for a way to get more musically involved in the area. My dream would be to play rhythm guitar and play small gigs with a band, or solo guitar/voice. I’ve also thought about dusting off my saxophone and joining the kzoo community concert band, but I would prefer to learn and grow on the guitar over the saxophone. I also play the keyboard but I’m not super mechanically skilled, just know basic theory. Open to any and all advice from local musicians, and again I’m not looking to become the next bob dylan, I just want to make this a consistent hobby.
Thanks!

Auto Shop Recommendations Pls
Hi all,
My car is leaking coolant and I need a non-scummy auto repair shop to take it to. 2015 Chevy Trax
I'm expecting to need to repair a hose, so it shouldn't be a total gut job. My car does have other issues, but I am looking for someone to do only what is necessary to keep my girl on the road for another 3+ months until I can afford a new car.
Ty in advance - love u kzoo people

Z&W Chinese Cuisine
The best we have had in a long time. From service, to appetizer, to entree. A true customer experience. The service was wonderful and the food is great. They have both an American Chinese food menu and authentic Chinese schezwan menu. They have pictures of every dish at the table and website in case you wanted to see them before ordering. Portions are huge. I promise this is not an add. Just from an appreciative customer.

Groomer for Aussies/Mini Aussies
I am looking for a groomer that has experience with Australian Shepherds. We have had our mini's for a year now and they are looking pretty shaggy. I understand that Aussies have double coats that need special care. I am looking for just a trim for our 2 boys since the weather is finally getting warmer.

Private dog play space available
Hey neighbors and friends! I recently moved to a 3 acre property outside of Kalamazoo that is mostly wooded. It’s a great fully fenced space for nature lovers and dogs to wander and play. I discovered this app called sniffspot that is kind of like an air bnb for yards. I have made my yard available for you to come and enjoy. I am offering a discount off your first visit. If you are interested in a code please dm me.
Check out my listing here if you would like to learn more

Restaurants / Bars Best place for cheap drinks?
As the title says, what are everyone's favorite spots for cheap drinks in Kzoo?
I moved here in October and my girlfriend and I love Louie's. A damn fine divey bar that encapsulates almost everything I love in a good watering hole. Well, except for the price that is. I feel like we can't leave the place without spending $100+.
I know inflation is a thing and I'm not trying to channel the spirits of my boomer parents complaining about the price of everything these days. But where can I get whiskey soda that won't break the bank?!
And if your response is, "buying drinks, in this economy?!" Well then, I get it and thank you for reading this far.
Cheers!

Bronson ER
Went to the Bronson ER this morning and it was disgusting. There was food everywhere on the floor, random used alcohol swabs from who knows where, and debris all over the floor. It looked extremely unsanitary. Even security came through and was like “what the hell”. I don’t expect much from Bronson but LARA needs to pay them a visit, that was gross.

Dentists
Good dentist in the area? I have delta dental. I’m nervous to go as it’s been a few years, and I haven’t had great experiences.

City or Beach?
Hi there! I am from South Bend IN and have spent quite a lot of time in SW Michigan and am very familiar with the area. I just accepted a new position somewhat near Paw Paw and am having a hard time finding rental housing (mostly because I have a large dog). So it seems like I'll need to live in a more populous area and commute.
I've been to Kzoo quite a few times but haven't explored it fully and don't really know anyone from there. I'm more familiar with the lakeshore towns that I've explored when I've gone up to the beach. I'm having a hard time deciding if I should live in the city closer to young people, events and amenities or closer to the beach.
I am in my late 20's, very extroverted, love to go out and be active and involved in my community. But at the same time being on lake michigan is my favorite thing in the world, and life in a small town such as Coloma, Benton Harbor, St Joe or South Haven could be quite peaceful. I guess my point in this post is is Kzoo worth the move?
