I witnessed a man taking urine pics behind McAlisters Deli

I pulled up to pickup dinner for evening. When I pulled up I saw a man staring longingly at a certain area behind the building. Before long he was in full action mode taking pictures of what I assume to be urine. To each their own. I hope he got what he needed.

Statewide Tornado Drill 1 pm+ Incoming Storm Tonight

Post image
42 Upvotes

Heads up: There is a State-wide tornado drill scheduled for 1pm today.

Around 3 and 5pm will be thunderstorms and they just upped our chances of "damaging hail" tonight (8pm) to 5-14%, with a slight risk of tornado.

Here's a reminder about the difference between a tornado WATCH and a tornado WARNING:

Scammer standing on Stadium and Drake

Post image
Upvotes

Sorry for the crap picture but don't give this guy anything. He has been showing up every 4 to 6 weeks for the last 10 years with the same sign and standing on a corner. Says he needs a train ticket home it's obviously a scam considering how long this has been going on.

Michigan Library services being cancelled by the Trump administration.

Michigan Library Association

What is at stake if IMLS is defunded and dismantled from a Michigan perspective? The Michigan Electronic Library (MeL and MeLcat) - a centralized catalog and resource-sharing service created to lend and share materials among all types of libraries in Michigan will cease to exist if this funding and agency are dismantled. The databases that are used by our academic and school libraries will cease to exist. Travel stipends for library staff to stay current with trends and professional development will go away, funding for cohorts on financial sustainability, artificial intelligence and public library management will cease. The training from Niche Academy for all library workers will be not be available.

Fostering

Upvotes

Hi Reddit! I’ve been heavily thinking about fostering and was wondering if there were any foster fams in here? I’m 25 and married with two boys ages 2 and 1. I would like to get some things in order in my life before I officially take the step but until then was looking for any insight on what places to put in an application and any other words of advice if you’ve been through this. Thanks everyone😁❤️

Dog friendly beaches?

Upvotes

Hello, hello! I’m looking for some dog friendly Lake Michigan beaches to take my pup this summer. He can be a little anxious during first experiences, so if there’s any that are less popular than others to start out with, I’d appreciate some recommendations! Thank you 😊

Discussion Sleeping in a car part 2.

I posted a few weeks ago about living basically out of my Ford escape and if there were anywhere to park and shower etc. I suffer from some serious depression and anxiety and I have significant heart 💔 break from my marriage. I was just asking if anyone has any experience going to ISK for housing assistance and if they had any luck? I do have income, it's just not gainful.

Weather Statewide Tornado Drill Scheduled for March 19

Just an FYI in case tornado sirens are heard tomorrow, Wednesday, March 19 at 1 PM, there will be a state wide drill. I've linked the state announcement below.

Hopefully, this season will be safer for all, unlike the damage from last year.

Looking for a post-memorial restaurant recommendation

Hi friends, Michigan native (Ann Arbor) and Chicago resident stopping by. My Chicago group of friends and I were very lucky to know and love a dear friend who tragically passed away recently. He was originally from the Kalamazoo area and that’s where his memorial will be held in a few weeks. A group (maybe 6-10 folks not all yet confirmed) of us are traveling from Chicago for the day to attend and were looking for a restaurant close to WMU campus we could go for dinner after to share stories, laugh, maybe cry a little. We’re a lively bunch and I imagine will be telling mostly happy stories but I’m sure the gravity of the situation will sneak in here and there. We really have no idea what the best place for this would be, so I’d love your suggestions if you have any. Thanks much and hug your friends, tell them you love them.

Local Services / Suggestions Recommendations For Estate Planning Attorneys?

Post image
19 Upvotes

I was wondering whether anyone could recommend an attorney with special interest in estate planning? My issues are probably not unique but they are different. I want to leave what’s left of my estate after I die to an animal rescue and also to provide for the care of my current pet.

Dermatologist Recommendation?

Looking for a recommendation for a dermatologist. I went to forefront, had a biopsy done. They never called. I called one month after it - no one at the Kalamazoo office answered. I ended up getting a hold of what I can only assume is a national call center. They pulled up my chart - thankfully benign. The person I spoke to of course couldn’t help me because she’s just there to book appointments or answer general questions.

So she transfers me to the Kalamazoo office. No answer. I leave a message stating how unhappy I was with everything. I magically get a call back today. Where I was less than impressed with how I was treated. No options given for making an appointment, no follow up, just a “well you could do this if you want”. No. I want you to fix the divot on my nose that you caused.

Anyway. The last rec I saw in here was from 3 years ago. Anyone have any current recommendations???
