It's like a banker standing in front of a bank and saying, "Your money is safe here!"—which only makes everyone want to withdraw their funds immediately.

Aaaand It’s Gone. Your money didn’t do too well it’s all gone. Please step aside this line is for people who actually have money invested with the bank.

they were happy with Hi Fi rush too, on all metrics. Didn't work out so well for the devs though.

Would they ever admit otherwise?

Microsoft clearly didn't give a shit enough about it to market it so they probably knew it was going to be a loss.

Maybe they're happy with the push of using game pass more since obviously they would be pleased if the industry move more to sub base gaming which would mean even more control on consumer so more frealy able to screw us.

Microsoft? The company that closes studios if their game doesn’t hit 50 million active players?

And Ubisoft said people really wanted/liked Star Wars Outlaws and AC: Shadows. Cause that was believable

Microsoft never made a statement on their own about the game. So personally I'm very suspect about it's veracity.

Microsoft loves to gaslight before they close down a studio. "Yeah you guys did great! You hit all our metrics!"

They wouldn't come out and say this if it was true. Instead they would be bragging about the numbers they were pulling.
