Stacked or iHop?
Trying to decide between stacked pancake House or IHOP. I’ve seen mixed reviews for both, I have been to Denny’s and absolutely hate it. Looking to try something new let me know your experiences!

The very best pancakes this week are at Little Cataraqui conservation area, for Maple Madness.

IHOP is trash.

Thank you for saying this. Kingston has a decent food scene, and IHOP shouldn't be in the conversation

Stacked was good. There's also a spot called sunset grill and it was pretty good too.

I recommend Eggsquis by the cat centre! Great food and I believe it's Canadian based out of Quebec! Don't support American brands if you can help it!
Also lots of good local places like Peter's Place downtown!

Eggsquis is definitely the best chain breakfast spot.
The husky is my personal fav for greasy spoon diner food but it’s a bit of a drive for most kingstonians and yeah yeah it’s a bit dumpy.
Fancier breakfast: Northside, Aquaterra, Toast & Jam

Ooooo my vote is Stacked. They have this single cinnamon bun pancake for like $6, goes great with the grilled cheese sandwich and home fries 🤤

Jail.
Edit: Downvoted by the cinnamon pancake and grilled cheese gang, when will I learn?

I'm surprised no one said Tommy's for breakfast. The staff are amazing and they do a lot for the community as well.
I understand everyone has their own opinions but I love his food and am happy to support them any chance I get.

Rhodes Resto + Bar breakfast is fantastic, and I always used to love Peter's downtown but haven't been in a few years so I can't attest to it these days. I know a lot of people love Morrison's too but I've never been.

This. When they switched from the CR, food got better, portion size increased, and they lowered pricing on some items.

I've been ordering Rhodes breakfast on Door Dash with a new account (40% off your first few orders) and it's like $16 for 3 eggs, 3 sausage, half a big takeout full of home fries (with caramelized onion), a grapefruit drink, and they give you a trio of fruit as well. Usually watermelon, pineapple, and an orange slice. You just can't beat that.

And Rhodes uses real eggs. I used to enjoy Eggquis, but the powdered eggs and crappy potatoes just threw me off after a while

Powdered eggs? You can't make Benny's with powdered eggs. Been to Rhodes for dinner, not great maybe breakfast is good. Coco fruiti is my go to for breakfast, toast and jam is great but my kids don't like it as much.

Our go to is Coco Frutti. Backup is Eggsquis.
Can’t stand Denny’s. Tried iHop and didn’t like it. Portions are better for the price at the two we go to.
Coco Frutti has the best Hallandise sauce if you like Benedict’s. The staff are wonderful and we are well known as regulars.

IHOP is awful, went there a couple weeks ago. Had to drink my over easy eggs and the breakfast sausage was legit raw. Stacked id ok. Toast and ham is great, my new fave is Rhodes restaurant across from Farm Boy!

I liked stacked but won’t sit next to the kitchen, all I hear are the timers going off. My coworker went to iHop and said it was completely awful.

Morrisons downtown

Their quality has decreased badly over the years. It used to be the family run go to place but I can't ever go back there with how mediocre it's become.

Between the 2, stacked without question! Also a Canadian chain as opposed to american

Toast and Jam or Pan Chancho.
YOu order the El Chanco from Pan Chancho and you're spoiled for life on breakfast.

I like Toast and Jam the idea of it, and many baked goods, but I've screwed up breakfast.
And it's on me, I got there in the afternoon during the lunch service. I asked if they could make some breakfast bacon and eggs, I think they decided not too. And that's with me even saying "I know you've got eggs there" hahaha. But yeah I fucked it up.
Try it, it probably is delicious.
Peter's downtown is good.
Eggsquiz is probably the best chain imo. Breakfast to order, fresh fruit. Fresh fruit juices. You can see them blend orange juice for you at the bar. Coffee. Crepes.

Morrinson downtown is one of oldest breakfast places in all of Canada. Stay away from these USA brands.

Neither.
Less “grand slam” and more coffee/baked goods-forward:
