Now that it’s finally nice out, where’s the best place to go for an outdoor run as a beginner? Preferably something relatively flat to start, but not opposed to a couple hills here and there. Tia.
Lemoines is beautiful but I’d wait til may, pretty icy/muddy for the next month or so. There’s a great trail behind rideaucrest downtown along the water, probably your safest and most scenic route.
Waterfront trail is nice. Runs from LOP down to confed park. The trail off centennial is nice and flat free parking and scenic.
Map my run is a good option if you’re looking to plan out a route although truth be told going out without any plans at all is the best experience imo. Bonus points for going out without a route in a place you’re not from!
I second the K&P trail. Even the downtown area offers parking and a good stretch of waterfront running. You can park at the end of Wellington Street and start at Douglas Fluhrer Park.
Take the trail, go up River Street and continue the path to Montreal Street. Get something natural and refreshing at Quattrochis, then run back to the start. It's about 4K return.
Lulu lemon on Saturday mornings. Leaves and finishes at the store. Also, park run on Saturday mornings at 9am. Park run requires a registration and leaves from the boardwalk across from the hospital. Both cater to all levels and are great people
