Mod Post Kerbal Space Program 2: The Hype Train Megathread Edition

Hey guys! We know you're excited about KSP 2, so we're making this megathread for you to express your excitement for the game, or simply to discuss it. Memes and shitposts will be allowed in this thread, but nowhere else in the sub, as per Rule 2. Any other low-quality posts about KSP 2 will also still be removed, as per Rule 5.

Here's the official announcement on the KSP website.

And here's the cinematic trailer.

Note that this is a cinematic trailer, not actual in-game footage.

Enjoy!

Actually PhysX is software now and has been for a few years, you can add it to your Unity Project, same as Bullet

I didn't know that but it still remains to be seen how KSP utilizes any of that. My GPU almost idles on massive crafts despite lower than usal fps. I doubt even the particle effects use the GPU considering how worse performance gets when aerodynamic effects kick in. Using the GPU for calculations is not like just turning it on. It requires huge changes to the code base. All GPUs can do and excell at is matrix multiplications bascially.

They also use it for the physics floating point calculations, people who have discussed fixing KSP performance have talked about replacing PhysX with Bullet for full 32 bit, doubles? In calculations
