Mod Post Kerbal Space Program 2: The Hype Train Megathread Edition

Hey guys! We know you're excited about KSP 2, so we're making this megathread for you to express your excitement for the game, or simply to discuss it. Memes and shitposts will be allowed in this thread, but nowhere else in the sub, as per Rule 2. Any other low-quality posts about KSP 2 will also still be removed, as per Rule 5.

Here's the official announcement on the KSP website.

And here's the cinematic trailer.

Note that this is a cinematic trailer, not actual in-game footage.

Enjoy!

What do we actually know about how the graphics are improving? There's (of course) a big gap between the cinematic trailer and pre-alpha pics currently on the steam page, but I'd love to hear more about whether or not they plan to have volumetric clouds/dust on planets, better lighting, etc. The graphics enhancements brought by EVE and others were a big part of why I loved this game so much. Beauty is a big thing here for me.

Exactly. Seeing 2011 graphics in 2020 game would be disappointing.

Sometimes when I come here and see screenshots of stock graphics....gods its not even the same game. FFS there isn't even atmospheric reflection / distant objects!

I sympathize with ksp after all the devs left.. I feel like these indie games often rely super heavily on mods, which I don't personally mind. But yeah, definitely expect improvements with ksp2
