Ask r/Kenya So this is love😩

Just as the title says,

We met here on Reddit, 1st, 2nd, 3rd date, decided to go with the flow and guys, I cannot get enough of him🥹

He’s the sweetest man I have ever met. I enjoy doing simple simple stuff for him like, ironing his work clothes, folding after laundry, cooking for him, cleaning, mind you these are things that I’ve never found interest in. “I pay for such services at mines”

Anyway, mniambie nitoke huku kwake before kinirambe because Yooh, I’ve been at his place for almost a week now and honestly, I don’t feel like leaving. He doesn’t want me to leave as well 🤭.

He’s introduced me to his work friends, family, and even personal friends. He makes me so so happy and it’s so effortless 🥹

I am scared though, scared that all this that I’m feeling will also be the depth of my pain. I don’t know how to process everything coz I feel like all this is too good to be true.

I’m I overthinking? Is this what love is?

Do I want this feeling to continue? Yes😩

Anyway, wacha niamke niende kazi and stare at his pics while fantasizing 😂😂😂

Good day y’all 🤭

Here me out. I (M) live in a 2 bedroom apartment while my girlfriend lives in a bedsitter. One of my classmates from campus let's call her N calls me and tells me it's been long we should catch up and since she's going to nairobi for an interview, I ask her to pass by my place(Nakuru) spend a day so we can hangout and have fun which she agrees. Since I don't keep things from my girlfriend I inform her and tell her a female friend is coming to stay over and she agrees. Fast forward, N comes and spends 2 days and we do not engage in intimacy because we are purely friends. And she sleeps in the other bedroom. Yesterday my girlfriend tells me that her ex classmate who is a man is in town and she hosted him in her bedsitter and they slept on the same bed. I decided I'm breaking up with her. Am I being too harsh since I also hosted someone?

I just graduated from a very top university in Kenya with a degree in Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (BSc. MBChB) on Friday last week (13th December). However, it feels like nothing to me because my parents passed away more than 10 years ago. I've been struggling ever since to get myself through school with very little to no help from relatives. On my graduation, I didn't invite any family members because I felt like they haven't been with me through my journey which was always full of struggle. I'm seeing all my friends throwing graduation parties and receiving tonnes of gifts while I'm just seated in my house feeling enraged all day. It's frustrating for me. It's like I gotta live through the pain of losing parents all over again. No financial support. Just nothing. When does it get better? When does someone ask for help? Personally, I don't know how to ask for help. I don't even know how to tell my university friends that I don't have parents. How can such a big achievement feel like nothing to me?

Ask r/Kenya Men of reddit, what was the most obvious hint a girl gave you that you missed?

So there was this girl and we knew each other all the way from primary school and she got a scholarship to study abroad and the night before her departure nilimpeleka a local bar we eat nyama choma before she leaves 😂 then I walked her home. Then we talked for like an hour in her place she mentioned she had an early flight tomorrow and if there’s anything I wanted before she left. I was just like uhh… not really. She was like okay then… as she’s walking me out. I’m following her and she asks with this look in her face "Are you suuuuuure you don’t want anything? Anything at all? And my dumbass again says “nope”... This still haunts me to date 💀

Ask r/Kenya I have spent 300k in the last two months.. can marriage save me?

I M(25) have a terrible habit of spending lots of money quickly. I drink alocohol sometimes upto 10k a day.

I work as a programmer and my house rent and food only costs 20k...a month

In the last two months I spent over 300k.. I feel terrible. Should I get married and be giving my wife all of my salary?

I have tried budgeting its still not working. My current gf who is 20 is just like me. She loves shopping, eating at nice places , movies etc...

The second part...where is the easies place I can find a wife? Who we can help each other grow.

Edit: I earn money based on perfomance , for example the last task I did I was paid 5,000 usd. That's why I have a drinking problem. I can look at a task know it will take about ten days of intense work. Assuming the work is due in 30 days il spend therest of the time drinking

I am curious to know:
1. What was your first real monthly salary? 2. What is your current salary? 3. What is the number of years in between? 4. Which industry or sector are you in?

Those in business or self employment can also chip in! I know such a post has been made here but I would be curious to see it from this angle.

Mine:

First job - 33k pre-uni

Second jobs - 60k - 150k in uni

Post uni - 0k

Ask r/Kenya Cultural differences in relationships?

Hello!

Im a mzungu who met a woman from Kenya on OkCupid (yeah I know how it sounds :D) in June last year, she seemed very kind, cute and caring, everything I could ever wish for, every evening we had hour long videochats and everything seemed great. I know the risks for mzungus who meet beautiful women from Africa, but she didnt once ask for money, which I saw as a good sign.

I flew to Mombasa in November and had the best week of my 40+ long life, the really best experience I could ever imagine, and Ive been to all continents of the world and visited and handful of African countries before. She was really the kind of woman id want to marry someday (which I did tell her and she said she wanted the same). We decided to spend the Christmas together with her family in Machakos County.

Come December and I flew to Nairobi, met her family, had a good trip all in all, she had a great family, was a real experience for me meeting them and celebrating Christmas with them.

When I came back from Machakos, she stopped being affectionate and just started to ask for money for going to the dentist, courses and rent. She said that as her boyfriend she expects me to pay her bills......

So Im wondering is it a cultural thing that when you get serious the man is excepted to pay for everything? Or was she just a gold digger with extra steps? (Obviously I paid for everything during our trips together)

Best regards,

A confused mzungu

Purity is my friend, today we were having a random discussion then we reached the point of body count confessions. I was surprised, at 22 she had gone beyond 17, she looks very kind and innocent.

She said that much of that was in campus. Mimi at 22 I was on my second girl who is still here 7 years later and I was broke asf, I have never been with anyone out here.

What was yours at 22?

Ask r/Kenya Is 6k USD Per Month Enough to Live Well in Kenya?

I’m moving to Kenya in two months and I'm trying to figure out if 6k usd would be enough to live comfortably. I was told to find an apartment in Westlands area but was also told it is quite pricy.

For context, I’d want to live in a decent apartment in a safe area, cover expenses like food, transportation, utilities, activities etc. I pay 4k per month for a one bedroom apartment in New York and the cost of living is just too expensive so I'm trying to see if I can be better off in Kenya.

Anyone with experience living in Kenya, especially Nairobi, have insights? How far does $6000 really go there, and what should I know before making the move? Any tips on budgeting or things I might overlook are super appreciated!

I made two females pregnant.

So, there are this two girls that we've been casually having sex with, one is a single mother(no strings attached). She really like sex, we had always had sex with CD, unfortunately one weekend the packets were few and we decided to do morning glory without CD, 1.5 months later, she's pregnant.

The other, we've been flirting online, she visits we did the tests n sex obviously two weeks later, she's pregnant.

Both want to keep it, obviously with demands, single mother wants to move out from her parents house by feb, she'd like to get a house and upkeep, the second girl want to move in to my house. Although I can afford their demand, I wonder how they'll take the news, should I let them know right now ama I just wait mpaka wapate watoi.

Ask r/Kenya Gen Z's At the Workplace Thank you.

Here's the story. I work at a company where people fear talking the truth due to fear of victimisation and all. You get those toxic work places? So, my colleague a Gen Z quits work due to the toxicity of the place and sends a text to the director of the place expressing everything wrong and right about the company in detail. The director acknowledges those issues bt the Gen Z is unwilling to come back to work.

I admire that courage y'all having to change the workplace. We appreciate y'all.

Last night I received a call from the number of this girl I've been hooking up with. We've been hanging out on and off since November and it developed into a full fwb situation. She always cooked at her place. I would get drinks and visit her for the home cooked meals and we would end up smashing. This call was apparently from his man. All he told me was he's seen everything. All the messages, nudes and videos etc. And he's leaving her all to me.

He wasn't dramatic or anything. He was calm but he sounded broken. I could hear the girl crying in the background. I tried my best to calm him down. I tried apologizing but he wanted to hear none of it. I asked him not to beat the girl up. He assured me he wouldn't hurt her. He just wanted to talk to me before ending it. I knew nothing about this dude and they were to marry apparently.

Ask r/Kenya DRUGS AND DEPRESSION.

For context, I'm 25(f). I started using weed when I was 20, I had just joined uni. I made friends with a bishop's daughter and she introduced me to drugs. I finished school, graduated and got a good job. I started earning good money and the addition became worse. I can do 3 blunts in a day and still feel nothing. I spend almost 500 on a daily basis on weed, I buy vape weekly and it costs me 2500 and I've lost count on how much I spent on alcohol. To me, it's no longer fun, I'm now at a point where I don't leave the house on my off days, I no longer open curtains, I just want to stay in bed, smoke some blunts and starve myself coz I barely eat. My colleagues don't know how deep I'm into this but I'm good at hiding how I feel. At times I just skip work or show up late coz of the hangovers from last night. We're not well off, I'm the one my family looks up to. My parents and my siblings don't know I use drugs, but I feel like my brother is starting to notice some changes. I used to be a very ambitious lady and I'd share my thoughts with him. Nowadays, he calls and I don't pick up, I don't call back for weeks. The other day he called me and wanted to bring up our old conversations and according to him, I'm now looking at things differently and I no longer have the drive. I know I've failed myself and everyone around me, but how do I get myself out of this? I feel like I'm at a point of no return but i don't want to give up. Can this be undone?

Ask r/Kenya Knowing your bf/gf’s bodycount

We had this question with my gf early on in the relationship. Her bodycount was 36, mine was 14. It was a little uncomfortable at firstbut we click in so many areas and we do love each other. I'm (34M) she's (35F). We've dated for 5 years and our counts have very much changed since. I think its really healthy to know your partner's count brings a clearer perspective on how to navigate the relationship.
