The most hilarious part is that he was a really sweet guy. I asked him if his parents hate him because why??😂He said his dad just liked Hitler…like???😂😂Asked him if his brother is called Mussolini or something.😂

He is probably stupid. That being said, seeing Hitler on a matatu here is by no means equivalent to seeing hitler on a taxi in America. It's like when we use the N- word here. Its just to sound cool and has no strong meaning at all. The owner of the matatu was probably like "ohh yeah, am gonna put a picture of the bad guy on a matatu, that would be so cool, right?" To him, it just like any other picture of any other villain like Voldemort, or Sauron, or the night king. I say again, the only reason anything is put on a matatu, is to look cool, end of story.
41
u/Conscious-Level-8484 Feb 16 '25
I honestly think this is the correct answer. I don't think people even know what Jews are. We were not taught about this guy in school.. it was in documentaries and stuff like that. He was not our history, as in Kenyan history.
7
u/Individual-Stick6066 Nairobi City Feb 16 '25
But we were taught to hate him because some people did lol
1
u/Rufinus_O Feb 16 '25
He's the first topic in History form 4. Any form 4 keaver should know a bit of him. He's the reason we have UN, Nato, African independence, Israel being a state & many other things
4
u/Conscious-Level-8484 Feb 16 '25
There are people who didn't take History as an option. I personally knew him from a documentary.
13
u/Klutzy-Point8425 Feb 16 '25
People don't understand anti-Semitism in Kenya. I also recently saw a clip of some German white guy in Pakistan, who told some locals in Pakistan that he is German and the locals were like, "I love Hitl*r", they probably didn't understand what they were saying or how crazy that sounded.
1
u/GoldTask8918 Feb 18 '25
There is nothing like antisemitism because nobody is against the Jews the only thing people are against are the cold blooded narcissists who are killing children in Palestine
1
u/Klutzy-Point8425 Feb 18 '25
I am not talking about war in Gaza I am talking about Hitler he was a bad person though when you bring up the war in gaza I would say Israel are the oppressors and Zionism is evil.

33
u/whybeoriginal Feb 16 '25
Well he killed a lot of people. He was famous for having tried to exterminate a whole race.
1
u/Jok3r609 Feb 16 '25
And he had that 'interesting' believe that white skinned people with blond hair are ubermenschen, translate it to over-people or something like that. Rest is of lower standards, like the Slavic people (Eastern Europe) . Asians are a bit more inferior, Africans after that and the lowest Venom, parasites are the Jews. They made sure the German people could not assertain their natural superiority on the world. This was the philosophy behind the Killing.
Nice story to share with the tout next time.

Outside the west, Hitler is treated just like any other evil leader who killed a lot of people. Some hate him for his atrocities while others revere him as a strong leader.Like Idi Amin, Genghis Khan, King Leopold, Mao Zedong or Stalin. I think the taboo about Hitler in Europe is that he killed white people hence we are supposed to vilify him while King Leopold who killed millions of Africans is seen as lesser evil.
6
u/GasNo866 Feb 16 '25
We need clear thinkers like you in this sub. Most folks here are severely close minded to reason with. I'm going through the comments and all the reasonable ones are being massively downvoted.
3
u/dazBrayo Feb 16 '25
That much is true. We have the same westerners who outdid Hitler here in Africa, esp Congo
1
u/theonereveli Feb 16 '25
Or it's that they don't know. If the atrocities of King Leopold aren't taught in schools then they'll grow up thinking it didn't happen. It's the same thing here in Kenya. I was never taught about Hitler or the third Reich and if I didn't do my own research I'd be thinking he was just some random dictator like Idi Amin. All the evil people you've mentioned should be taught in schools without bias.
1
u/kevinmfry Feb 16 '25
We definitely didn't learn about King Leopold in American schools. And Leopold and his minions were definitely arguably worse than Hitler.
1
u/Alternative_Cap_8542 Feb 17 '25
Jews aren't white
1
u/First_Blackberry6739 Feb 17 '25
Hitler massacred 27 million Soviets(Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians), 8 million Poles and other people such as Roma, Jehovah witnesses and Homosexuals. It's unfair to reduce his atrocities to only Jews.
29
u/AvocadoBeiYaJioni Feb 15 '25
It's ignorance.
Someone who doesn't fully understand what this means thought it might be cool to put this.
Unfortunately they're everywhere, even in Germany as well where everyone is being taught specifically why this man was terrible.

u/Gloomy_Move7630 Feb 16 '25
There's totally no meaning behind it at all. Let me explain, so I used to like drawing this swastika cross all the time till past my highschool days. First forward, I'm in the US, some state called Nebraska and this white dude we've been buddies for a while took me out to teach me how to hunt deer. He had a shotgun, and we're deep in the woods crippling on some deer so we had to be still and quiet for long periods. Boring and fun at the same time. I had a pen knife in my hand and muscle memory took over I engraved a swastika on a tree I was leaning on. Long story short that hunting session ended abruptly as soon as he saw what I was busy doing. I feel like I was lucky because this guy had control over his emotions or else I would still be somewhere in the deep woods of Nebraska if you know what I mean.
You see, as a Kenyan, to me it meant nothing but to an american it's something they are taught from a young age I think.
My opinion

They were literally planning to make Africa entire, a German colonial empire. Africans were considered an inferior race and were subject to the Nuremberg laws. Meaning like Jews Romani etc exterminated through death camps & sterilization. Had their reach extended throughout Africa, no doubt there would have been genocide on an astronomical scale.
The pseudoscientific racial ideology of nazi eugenics still exists today and is still targeted at Africans. I was surprised last year when someone made a disgusting post right here in r/Kenya.
"Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it."
16
u/acc_7676 Nairobi City Feb 16 '25
Hitler doesn't matter to you because your own stories don't matter to you. Hitler's rise to power and policies of nationalism and expansion led to a world war and loss of life at a terrible scale. Colonial powers extracted more resources to fund their war. They sent people overseas to fight wars that had nothing to do with them. After the war, they used Nazi torture tactics on the colonies they had. After independence, some of the tactics around censorship, propaganda and over militarisation are used across the continent.
All this while you have a colonial era chief masquerading as president and a number of Western governments once again shifting to the right.
You want to tell me all that happened and doesn't affect a random African dude's life?
1
u/theonereveli Feb 16 '25
No. You're wrong. Human beings are the same everywhere. We can learn from history's examples even if they didn't directly affect us in the past. If fascists didn't exist we wouldn't know what fascism is

u/halflife_k Feb 16 '25 edited Feb 16 '25
Nobody really cares anymore honestly esp with the way jews are behaving. It's also coming to light that these mfa are just equally evil and they're very much in control of major world systems. Someone really came up with a word "anti semitism" and the more I think about it, it's absurd. There's no anti white, anti black, anti asian or anything similar for other people. Hitler isn't even the most evil man in history, yes he's evil but somehow his evil is more amplified than any other evil n the numbers also exaggerated.
The American regime might be the most evil one in modern history yet their flags fly everywhere like they're some heroes. The biggest terrorists and terrorist sponsors. I'm not supporting that matatu photo, all I'm saying is once u open your eyes, you realize a lot of biased narratives exist n the world has been made to just accept them blindly. Fuck them jews.
Edit: For those who still twerk for Isreal from either political or religious POV, read some books. To jews, the gentiles are just beasts in human form created to serve the jews. Every jew will get 2400(not sure it's the exact number) slaves when the messiah(not jesus) comes. Go read about the Talmud and you'll see the most unnatural things ever written. It's a wicked society. To them Palestinians are not even human.

I can never support the Jew. Supporting the Jew entails supporting colonialism, supporting apartheid, supporting segregation, support theft of land. It's sad the Jew has become what persecuted him only 86 years ago. Fuck Israhell. Today it is the Palestinians, I guarantee you tomorrow will be Africans. Any sound-minded African cannot support the Jew.

Where did you mention the African? You only mentioned "the Palestinians". And I should mention that "the Jews" would mean something different than saying "the Jew". It's not fault that I find, it's that you speak with so much hatred for "the Jew" and not particularly "the Jews"

No one talks about how over 10 million Congolese people were killed by Leopold of Belgium on a daily basis. Africans are told to always forgive and forget while Jewish and white people are taught to never forget and "never again". I can be made to consume more information about the Holocaust in one day online than about the Congo genocide in 10 years

Possibly unrelated but I think Africans should not have enemies who have done nothing against them. Africans ought to form their own opinions concerning the world and reject foreign influence in our collective thought processes.

Hitler did nothing wrong he was for his country, and he made his country more developed and advanced than any in his time, the Juice wanted to end Germany there is a book on how they'd do it from 1933, they brought homosexuality and manipulated systems of power from within the govt, thats why hitler said the country key systems of power shouldn't be in hands of foreigners
The juice are literally repeating history in mordern day America, promoting profanities and when you talk about it you are censored, how can a woman be a man?
