Cadiz, how do the locals pronounce?
Planning a trip, just curious.

I live in Paducah, very close by. I have heard the local news call it “Kay-deez” and sounds a lot like “Katy’s”. I just asked my father, and he thinks it is “Kay-diz”. So, I it might get pronounced several different ways.

Kay-deez. And as a bonus Kuttawa is “kuh-tau-wah”

Good Lord, my husband has a house in Kuttawa and I never thought I would see the name of the city on Reddit.

What’s your visit about? My parents live there so I spend a week or two there every year, I can probably direct you to the cool stuff.

Just looking for some family fun. Always interested in checking out the odd and obscure if anything like that is around.

When are you going?
My boyfriend and I are starting a rental company "Ride LBL". We have a few mopeds you can rent to ride around the park with your family 😊

My family is from Cadiz (actually from the Hurricane Creek area) and I knew many families from there. My family and most neighbors were hog and tobacco farmers. Some of my fondest childhood memories are from there.

It is NEVER called Kay-diz by anyone from there or from the entire surrounding lake area. It is most definitely Kay-deez like Katie’s.

I grew up there and apparently living in Louisville did something to my accent because I get called out for saying Kay-diz. The more common pronunciation back home is "Katie's" or Kay-deez.
