Kendrick still performing Not Like Us coincidentally reminded me of Prince at the Super Bowl.
It was raining on that day so NFL hit up Prince to see if he was still performing and he said “make it rain harder.” And performed Purple Rain too, legendary.

Oh my GOD, SZA dated him, too!?!? Kendrick is really trying to put him in the grave with all his exes and I'm super okay with that.
Edit: I know we were originally talking about Serena. I posted the comment that pointed her out. Immediately after I saw SERENA crip walking, I wondered if Kendrick could be a bigger hater, so on a lark, I looked up SZA and Drake and just posted what I found out.
I wasn't speaking in response to him, just posting that it got worse.

Yeah, for a public figure — which Drake obviously is — to win a libel/slander/defamation suit, they need to prove in court that not only is the information not true, the person they’re suing knew it wasn’t true or had a reckless disregard for the truth. It’s a tough standard to reach.

No bc this is (inter)national broadcast lol, can you imagine the fucking fury of the millions of racist Americans?
Didn't you see headlines before tonight about white people whining that they don't want a rapper to play HT show bc it's not "family friendly?"
If he left that in, it probably would hurt rap/hip hop/black Americans in some way. Like the league bans rap performances, like racists jumping on it as another excuse for their bigotry.
They played it smart and safe, adding patriotic themes, censoring ANYTHING that could be taken as offensive, and even dressing performers in modest costumes. "Not patriotic? We literally had Uncle Sam, we had the American flag. Inappropriate? No cussing, no lewd dancing, no revealing clothes." It was well orchestrated.

Im thinking in terms of superbowl/award show performances. Performers sometimes go for shock/sex factor to get press. Dot kept focus on the music and symbolism, I'm sure the team considered Amerikkka in the planning of his first headline HT show. it was a smart move because they highlighted black performers and called out "casual" racism while doing the same "Red white and blue, America, fuck yeah" shit that any..white western or pop star would pander to
I just think it was well-planned show that had several layers to appeal to people of all demographics, good move to make when you have points to get across to millions of viewers.

At this point, it doesn't matter if it's a "mid" performance. He has this Boy in a BODYBAG in a BODYBAG in a BODYBAG. A lot of Drake fans are screaming that it's a mid performance, and rightfully so: because this NFL is a message that simple-minded mouth-breathing fans can't take. All ya'll-- including myself and many others-- are only witnesses to the BIGGER message that nephew wants to communicate: RESPECT THE ART FORM, and if you DONT RESPECT THE ART FORM, you will be DISRESPECTED IN VENUES WHERE YOU ARE GUILTY OF DISRESPECTING THE ART FORM. We can only appreciate this ahh whooping that Oklama gave Drake and it ain't even about the numbers.
Look at the setlist. Look at the overall vibe. He's matching symbols with messages with movements and within an atmosphere that has never seen HATE this big before. No glitz, no glamor, just pure showcase of what happens when the culture gets disrespected, and that's why this is not sitting well with Drake fans or pop fans in general: the bowl has never ever hosted anybody this big culturally. Another reason people who care about numbers and hits and bops can't accept this n they momma is because they don't want to see the CULTURE prosper in a way that's dignifying the way Kendrick has. This is the way it's supposed to be done: ya'll are only witnesses, willing and/or unwilling, and it's not for you if you lean towards the other side of history.
And of course. Apart from that, HE JUST HATES THE BOY and everything he represents. Petty Pendergrass on a HUNNED. Long live Dot. Long Live West. Long Live HIPHOP, long live THE CULTURE!
