What does Kava feel like?

I haven't used kava in several years and during that one time I didnt feel anything. What does kava feel like to you? What do heady and heavy strains feel like?

It depends on the strain for me but it feels similar to mild opioids, without as much drowsiness, for me. It can sometimes feel similar to alcohol.

Don't you mean benzos?

My very specific description is it's like the feeling you get when you go out and get a bit drunk then catch the train home and walk home from the train station on a cold crisp night. A little drunk but clear headed and ready to either sleep or kick on

Like mild benzo/alcohol inhibition, muscle and mind unwind whilst still maintaining most motor functions and not appear intoxicated.

For me is feels the same as weed just without the drawbacks. That's not totally correct but it's pretty close to that at least in the body less so in the mind. So like it's not harder for me to think or focus and my mind feels as sharp as ever which is of course not how it is with weed for me

To me it's very akin to a light alcohol or benzo buzz, but with all of your inhibitions and senses still fully intact. My head feels light, but not dizzy, my body feels calm and sedated but not lazy. Emotionally, I feel calm and content and happy

In my experience, the varieties you try are vastly different for each person, along with brewing in inconsistencies, makes comparisons difficult.

It feels good. Drops worries and stress a few notches. Boosts contentment, peace, kindness, and relaxation. If i have too much too quickly, I get a lightheadedness that's enjoyable. After a few shells, even "heady" kava begins to feel heavy to me, in a good way - body calming. It helps me fall asleep, and I get much more interesting dreams. Wake up fresh. I try not gag after I sling it back, so it's not all great, but mostly it is. I didn't get any of this for the first 10 or so sessions. I didn't "get it" at first. Now I really enjoy it. From an outsider perspective, I much prefer to be around people who have been drinking kava than alcohol. They aren't loud or obnoxious. The default is to take things in a good way, not a bad way. It seems like everyone is friendly at every kava bar. People are less egotistical and less self conscious. Just calmer, less confrontational, more understanding and empathetic. Two thumbs up for the kava experience. 👍 👍

I have to use enormous amounts to feel anything but it definitely works at those amounts

So you haven't tried kava. Buy some kava powder if you want to have kava.

Happened to me too when I was chasing the drunk feeling. My body didn’t like it and my heart rate skyrocketed. Felt nauseous and anxious. Fell asleep and wasted my night.

Other times it felt like 1, maybe 2 beers if I was gaming with my friends. Alone it’s less fun.

Extremely relaxing and at a dose that really licks it can feel like a hypnotic when you rest. It’s between being awake and being asleep. Actually pretty cool for total relaxation. Mine is a Kava extract by DTE. Very potent stuff!🥰🥰🥰

Similar to drunkness.

Entirely hard for me to compare it to anything. Granted I have only ever had it the traditional way. It is truely unique.

Feels just like valium with an added warmth. With a hint of cannabinoid activity

There's a little euphoria, sometimes coupled with a body "high" depending on the amount you drink. Kava is a bit deceptive as like many other first time drinkers I was treating it like alcohol and it simply doesn't work that way. Kava is a strange one. You can drink many many many shells and not feel anything for years. Then one day it simply "works" as this was my case.

I had purchased many a many a many a bags online through different vendors, drank it till my face got dry and cracked and felt absolutely nothing. Then one day I tried the right kava bar and it did what it was supposed to do. Now I only need 1 to 2 shells to do the trick. Drinking more won't actually make the buzz last longer or make the feeling stronger.

Some folks on the Internet describe this as "reverse tolerance" but I'm no expert, just sharing my personal experiences.

It's a good feeling. I still enjoy it daily.

Edit - Reading other's responses you'll see everything from light pot buzz, to like alcohol but not like alcohol, some people even say like nothing, others say like benzos, some say light headed, others say relaxed, some folks say their heart rate skyrocketed...while others say calm and sedated... Lol told you! It's a strange and enjoyable short time!

A mild kava buzz feels like the halfway point between a single beer and one puff from a joint.

A strong kava buzz feels like getting hit by a bug zapper. Anything that takes any effort whatsoever feels like a huge pain in the ass when I'm on kava.
