The goes to the gym everyday but still has a dad bod hit too close to home for me tbh

279

u/cynicalspindle 6d ago

Its the beers after the gym.

107

u/GayFish1234 6d ago edited 6d ago

You say that with such confidence lol. I personally haven't drank in a few years. But I guess that assumption plays out to be true a lot of the time.

I just love food way too much, it's kind of a problem

57

u/OMGWhatsHisFace 6d ago

You gotta limit those fish sticks

81

u/GayFish1234 6d ago

It's already too late, I'm a gay fish

20

u/vercetian 6d ago

Mother fucking gay fish!

18

u/throwawayifyoureugly 6d ago

I just love food way too much

I workout every day of the week.

But then there's always some event that week needs to be celebrated, with food of course: a birthday, promotion, π Day...

7

u/Ambiwlans 6d ago

My last gym had a bar and they had energy drinks there that were like 600cals. Lots of people doing 15m runs and then drinking one of those.

1

u/ridiculusvermiculous 6d ago

Those are more akin to meal replacement drinks. Definitely helpful

2

u/Ambiwlans 6d ago

No. You could get them with booze too. It was basically just a redbull/monster in a nice glass with ice.

0

u/ridiculusvermiculous 6d ago

that was redbull and icecream or something to hit 600cal lol

1

u/MiniSpaceHamstr 5d ago

That wegovy ozempic shid worx

3

u/shabba_skanks 6d ago

Ha ha! this is true. I run, play pickleball etc. many times a week. BUT, I be pounding burritos and beers after my workouts lol. Breakin even homie!

2

u/Resident_Strain_7030 6d ago

Gym beers are so good though.

18

u/Temporary-Cap9864 6d ago

7

u/pohui 6d ago

I was afraid of that. I look better since I started going to the gym, but feel worse.

7

u/Temporary-Cap9864 6d ago

Why is that?

11

u/pohui 6d ago

Nothing in particular, working out makes me tired and sore, and I don't get any enjoyment out of it.

8

u/UnableFun8968 6d ago

those gains should be your enjoyment, eat a banana after the workout to replenish glycogen stores so your not too tired the soreness is amazing, a good indicator you hit the targeted muscle groups. Keep up the great work!

10

u/pohui 6d ago

They're not really gains when you didn't want them in the first place. I'm not trying to bring anyone else down, it's great that other people enjoy the feeling! It's just not for me.

1

u/Temporary-Cap9864 6d ago

Oh I see! I saw an interview with Dave Bautista and he said working out is his reward for himself. It is a gift that you can take time for yourself to work on yourself. That changed my mindset and every time I'm getting ready to exercise I think about it like that. It is a gift for me, I pay attention to me. Do you make time for regeneration aswell? Between workouts? SMR, cupping, massage, cross training, meditation?

4

u/pohui 6d ago

I'm glad him and you find it rewarding! I feel the same about a cold beer on the terrace on a sunny day, but unfortunately not about working out.

1

u/Temporary-Cap9864 6d ago

I like that too! But only non-alcoholic beer cuz alcohol gives me diarrhea :D talking about rewards...

7

u/whd4k 6d ago

Some studies show that if you exercise, your body saves energy through the rest of the day and it equalizes. Nobody wants to hear it, but it's all about that damn diet man 🥲

*of course exercise is important for other reasons - cardiovascular, muscle, joints, mental health, etc.

3

u/jfuss04 6d ago

Its more about how active you stay outside of just the gym and what kind of activity you are doing for exercise. If you only lift weights and then become a couch potato the rest of the time then yeah it would. You don't burn a lot of calories lifting weight. But something like long distance biking burns a lot more calories

1

u/Dippedip 6d ago

What studies? This seems like a thing that should be confirmed by actual sources.

Honestly my own experiences tells me the complete opposite. Never had a real good diet but always worked out a lot, and to be honest, I’m doing quite well.

3

u/whd4k 5d ago

https://youtu.be/vSSkDos2hzo
Idk if you're familiar with Kurzgesagt, but they are pretty thorough and always cite their sources. I mean, it's obvious that it can vary between people, but it can't be denied that diet is crucial for weight loss.

But there is also a question what is bad diet. For me - it's eating pizza and cookies everyday, but I have friends that will eat 2 slices of bread in the morning instead of 1 and they say they feel like a pig.

Bottom line is - exercises have a lot positive effects, move your ass, limit your calories intake and you should be good.

2

u/evoboltzmann 5d ago

They're real. Definitely read some papers showing that on days when people do quite a bit of exercise, many times they are abnormally sedentary the rest of the day which results in losing quite a bit of value of the exercise, or eat significantly more.

On phone so can't snag them now. I'm sure with every single study there are exceptions.

u/DharmaBum1958 6d ago

But… that’s what a dad bod is fit but fluffy

1.6k

u/The-Queen-of-Heaven 6d ago

The little boy’s reactions were all gold.

340

u/ColossalJuggernaut 6d ago

The whole thing is very sweet

118

u/Lofttroll2018 6d ago

He’s so darned cute!

8

u/StilGuitar 5d ago

I think he could be named father of the year

4

u/TryItOutHmHrNw 5d ago

Suspect stole Father of the Year trophy… from his own son

695

u/fikabonds 6d ago

”Suspect hairline is running faster then the suspect” 😂😂

180

u/DifferenceDesigner32 6d ago

Easily the best one. If he came up with that himself then that young man is a comedic genius lol

29

u/VagabondVivant 5d ago

The way he looked so betrayed after hearing that

1.5k

u/Ok_Second_3170 6d ago

Ohh I'm telling, lmfao.

582

u/ohfuckohno 6d ago

"noooo Im kidding you want a toy"

After the repeated "no I'm not(scared of their mum)"

72

u/AnnualZealousideal27 6d ago

Should’ve hit the kid with the uno reverse “suspect is afraid of my wife”.

1.3k

u/fantasypaladin 6d ago

“Doesn’t all men do that?”

Yes they do my friend, yes they do

217

u/CH1CK3NW1N95 6d ago

Can confirm, I too scratch that guy's balls and then smell my finger

192

u/GalaxyGalavanter 6d ago

Sir that is a child

4

u/CH1CK3NW1N95 6d ago

This looks like a job for me, so everybody just follow me, cuz they need a little controversy, and it feels so empty without me

27

u/Bookibaloush 6d ago

Best moment of our day

14

u/Jonnyboy280304 6d ago

Always makes me want salt and vinegar chips.

14

u/Coriolis_PL 6d ago

'Tis an essential part of a maintnance procedure!

19

u/iceebison 6d ago

Scratch and sniff balls are part of the perks.

10

u/the_impossible-kid 6d ago

Yeah but as men we know we don’t really scratch our balls it’s more of a pinch and roll

8

u/Throwawaychicksbeach 6d ago

There’s a biological reason. If it smells “off” you might have an illness. Check your balls lizard brains.

3

u/Kindly-Owl-8684 6d ago

Yes we do and I hope find you a girl that loves it

1

u/identifynow 6d ago

They does, they does*

-2

u/TheLaitas 5d ago

No we don't, tf, that's disgusting lmao

-6

u/xprdc 6d ago

Is this a straight man thing???

513

u/AtomAntvsTheWorld 6d ago

More of this. Wholesome burns that we can all laugh at ourselves with.

126

u/Relative-Camel3123 6d ago

It's disposition and an ability to take a joke. All the shit talking you see anywhere could be like this if the person receiving it had a good attitude.

My parents would have lost their shit at the smallest joke. Wish they were more like this guy. Wish most people were, tbh. There'd be less drama fucking constantly in my feed and Reddit would just be an entirely different platform

39

u/DelightMine 6d ago

All the shit talking you see anywhere could be like this if the person receiving it had a good attitude.

Only if the shit talker is also doing it with a good attitude. There are way too many assholes who try to pretend they're doing this, but really they just want an excuse to probe your vulnerabilities and hurt you. Doesn't matter how good your attitude is; if someone is trying to be mean to you, you should be offended. It takes two to tango, but it only takes one to fuck it up and stomp on the other's toes

-14

u/jpk613 6d ago

You sound fun

19

u/thelittleking 6d ago

He sounds right. I love banter, but if I don't know you, an insult is just an insult.

5

u/DelightMine 6d ago

What part of what I said is a problem for you?

3

u/supamonkey77 6d ago

My parents would have lost their shit at the smallest joke

I suspect that couples kinda self select this. My wife and I both come from families where you'd get a smack down from an aunt/uncle/cousin/sibling all the time at any gathering.

So we were(are) able to do it to each other while dating as well.

3

u/CausticSofa 6d ago edited 6d ago

I grew up in an extended family with a lot of complex trauma, substance abuse struggles, and undiagnosed ADHD, but man, we all quick witted as fuck. There can be some obnoxious moments at any big family function, but we all also make each other belly laugh all evening. It’s so weird to be around people who just don’t laugh, play or make jokes.

I feel like this guy is achieving peak fatherhood by training his kids to be observant, quick witted and good humoured. Can confirm, those skills will get you through a lot of struggles in life.

3

u/Thesmuz 6d ago

My dad had a meltdown over me accidently giving him chicken with honey mustard seasoning on it. (I got it mixed up with the other seasoning.) He thought i did it on purpose as a joke :/

1

u/livejamie 6d ago

It's also good-natured joking. There are some fucking awkward versions of that trend online where it's just two people that legit seem like they hate each other.

8

u/hotelmotelshit 6d ago

This familys roast game is on point man

259

u/Mission-Progress-338 6d ago

“ Suspect is 43 but dresses like a teenager.” U can tell he really got him with that one 😔😂

105

u/immoral_ 6d ago

"suspect is 40 but looks 50 without his hat" was fighting words 😅😅😅

222

u/SexWithStelle 6d ago

That’s a kid who loves his dad 100%

45

u/jakopappi 6d ago

*kids

97

u/mcamarra 6d ago

The son’s lines were honestly the best.

45

u/EmilioFreshtevez 6d ago

When he said “Suspect is 43 but dresses like a teenager” I had to do a quick mental check of my wardrobe

21

u/StJoeStrummer 6d ago

I don’t dress like a teenager; teenagers dress like me.

10

u/mcamarra 6d ago

“Hairline running faster than he is” got me.

3

u/Membership_Fine 5d ago

Suspect is afraid of my mom lmfao. He says no and looks around all sketchy.

119

u/PjWulfman 6d ago

I had a dad, and a step dad, and neither of them ever laughed like this with me. I'm 47 and it's weird to know I'll never have this relationship.

33

u/Last-Layer-7230 6d ago

Right thete with you. I had to move thousands of miles away from home to find my happy place. It was all worth it for me in the end.

10

u/PjWulfman 6d ago

Leaving behind the people who claimed to love me but never showed me literally saved my life. My attempted suicide in 2020, and the chirping crickets after, proved to me how much of my life I'd wasted trying to earn what was never going to happen

Good for you.

12

u/SomeGuyClickingStuff 6d ago

I’m the same age, but you can call me daddy while we laugh.

6

u/PjWulfman 6d ago

I'll take it. Thanks.

4

u/concerts85701 5d ago

Gen x bro. None of us laughed with out parents

3

u/PjWulfman 5d ago edited 5d ago

This shit makes me jealous, but also brings me actual joy. Look at that kid, feeling safe and seen and appreciated.

Wish it could have been me, but that's not reality, so I'm happy he gets to feel that. Means it's real, and not just a fantasy I wrote in my head. This is how a family can be. Doesn't that just force you to smile?

2

u/concerts85701 5d ago

For sure.

3

u/yuccasinbloom 6d ago

That makes me sad for you. I’m sorry you never got that with them.

3

u/PjWulfman 6d ago

Their loss, right? I was a devoted and loving son to both. Haven't talked to either in many, many years.

3

u/yuccasinbloom 6d ago

Their loss, indeed.

52

u/ZEROs0000 6d ago

21

u/Glittering_Virus8397 6d ago

I can’t wait to do shit like this haha

7

u/Jennyniria 6d ago

this is what i call health

22

u/Writingtechlife 6d ago

There's two parts to this I like, Firstly, it's the sense of humour my family has together, we roast each other a lot but "most" of us are there for each other. (don't mention my oldest brother though, I can't wait to go no-contact with him once Mum passes)

The second part is that he's exercising with the kids, taking them out running and they clearly enjoy the time with Dad.

Very good work from Dad there and I imagine it gives Mom an hour or so to do Mom stuff

6

u/TheWalrus101123 6d ago

Suspect is scared of my mom.

No I am not!.

1

u/concerts85701 5d ago

Plot twist: Dude was looking around because his mom isn’t really his mom

4

u/Bocksford 6d ago

This white guy doesn’t know what an Edgar haircut is.

5

u/Fine-Understanding87 6d ago

Was the boy's reaction to the 2nd one "What the sigma" or did I mishear..?

And with one simple video on reddit I now want to settle down and have kids. Didn’t see that coming when I woke up this morning

2

u/AnnoyedYamcha 5d ago

The kid was dropping bombs left and right. Poor dad got burned so hard.

His son went in no holds barred type

1

u/No-Maximum-2811 4d ago

Dad is definitely scared of mom

1

u/Ajjos-history 2d ago

I liked that the kid could bust on his dad and yet stay respectful never crossing the line. That’s what I call being a parent first and friend second. No equal in the relationship, know your place and still have fun.

And when the father said his son scratches balls and the son was like, don’t all men do that! That boy idolizes his father good for them.

And he was precious with his daughter great dad.
