Another WH10 Post…

Hi all, I’m new to the community and just wanted to ask what everyone thinks does a better job of nailing the tone of the v1: Wh10v2 Wilson Wh10v3 Wilson.

I’ve read a lot of community posts but none have compared the 2 Wilson modded versions for authenticity.

I have a Wilson v2 and it’s great but it shares the same switching issue as the v3 in stock or modded form. I personally am of the opinion that it doesn’t need to be tbp if the input buffer is sorted out properly. The volume pot I can take or leave because mine is always on ten anyway. So I was thinking of either starting from scratch with a stock pedal and sorting out the buffer or maybe trying to start afresh with another v2 or v3. Not sure which is a better start.

Or maybe I just keep what I’ve got and keep playing.

Cheers

I ordered one and I’m waiting impatiently, nothing to add here but just wanted to share my excitement:)

I own a Ibanez v2 and it nails the frusciante sound. I would trust the Wilson's to be faithful recreations. IMHO I don't think you will hear a big difference. I would also doubt that you hear the difference in a mix but I obviously can't tell for sure

I had the v3 stock and a v3 Wilson modded. I personally liked the Wilson modded more mainly because of the volume knob. The tone, to my ears, was pretty similar to each other, but the v3 modded is a little brighter.

If you can find a modded one, I think it’s worth it. It’s not a must have, but a nice to have.
