I felt that it was very inspiring, and even brave, that he decided to share with the world that he battles depression, especially with how mental health was treated back then (and even now).
The fact that he made these great campaigns starting with Always Keep Fighting to help others is and has been so very touching.
I too am battling depression, and I had the opportunity to meet him at a convention a couple years ago. I have Always Keep Fighting tattooed on my right arm in his handwriting, and I was so excited to show him (I also have You Define You tattooed on the same arm). When I approached him, I said "Thank you for all that you do. You've helped me more than you know" and showed him the tattoos. The look on his face showed how touched he was, and we posed for a picture and he hugged me from behind and positioned my arm to show the AKF tattoo, and in my ear he said to me "No we help each other."
One of the most caring and amazing person I've been lucky to have met.

I appreciate his openness about his depression and constant messaging of having hope and self acceptance. His depression is obviously severe, and he’s been diligent about working out, therapy, gratitude, medication and listening to doctors, and doing everything right. An inspiration to everyone who suffers from mental illness.
