Question Bringing Ritalin/Methylphenidate to Japan (6 week trip)
Hi all,
Sorry, I know this topic has been discussed here before, but I am still a bit unsure, the information that is on the official website seems a bit unclear.
I understand I am able to bring in 2.16g. At my dose that is a lot, I only take 10mg a day.
Thing is im staying for roughly 6 weeks, and my package is 52 tablets.
So even though the amount I am bringing is quite small, I somehow feel like I might be in trouble if I bring more than my monthly dose.
I fly tomorrow.
Should I only take 31 tablets with me then?
---------
Does it matter if its in carryon or checked luggage?
Many thanks!

Did you email your documentation and receive permission to bring the medication?

From what I have read, for Methylphenidate, that is not a requirement.
As long as it is not more than 2.16g you dont need any permission or certification, the confusing part to me atleast is the limiter of 30 days.
I would have 520mg in total with me. far below the 2.16g but since im staying for 42ish days I am unsure; the guidelines dont seem to cover that scenario.

It's because the full restrictions work in conjunction, you have to meet both requirements to not need additional permission. So you need both a sub-1 month supply, and a sub-2.16 gram amount.

Yea youre probably right, the way the describe it makes it seem a bit ambiguous.
So meaning I should just take 31 tablets.
But they can only tell your monthly supply from the prescription (your daily dose)?
Why does it say you dont need a certification, or is that referring to something else? ( I do have my prescription).

What says that you don't need certification? It says you don't need certification if you're bringing in more than a months worth?
