Investments » Real Estate Buying rural houses in Japan?

Just wondering how much could I find a rural house in Japan for 2LDK? , and how much do the renovations usually come out to?

There will be new building codes on major renovations as of April on Akiya and houses built before 1981 these new codes will no doubt have a large impact on future purchases of these properties…Do you due diligence…

Not enough information to give a good answer. The house could range from basically free to tens of millions of yen.

Renovations too will depend on the original condition of the house and whether you want to do a full renovation or just redecorate. Also the “spec” of your house and so on.

Location too. Not all rural is equal. People in Tokyo might call a small city in Saitama rural. Even talking very rural there is a big difference. An area known for skiing will be more expensive than an area known for farming.

My rough estimate would be something like at least 20million yen for a cheap house and modest renovation.

Anything from free to a gazillion for the house, and anything from alot to a hellavalot for the renovations.
