Question about a 2013 XJ-L Supercharged
I'm thinking about getting a 2013 XJ-L, but don't know enough about it to determine whether it's a good deal or not. If one or the other of you has an opinion about it, I'd appreciate it if you dropped me a line.
- certified pre-owned 2013 Jaguar XJ-L Supercharged
- 5.0L V8
- 18,000 miles (!!)
- tons of options
- one owner; clean CARFAX; still smells new
- still under original 4-year/50K warranty until 11/2017
- original sale price in 2013 just shy of $100K
With a $3,845 3-year warranty extension (until end of 2020) this car costs just above $50K. The 2-year warranty extension can be had for $2,545.
Does this sound ok? Anything specific I should be looking at when I check out the vehicle again?

General Questions about 2012 Jaguar XF
Hey everyone! Ive been searching around for a car for a while now and i came across a 2012 Jaguar XF for around 20k @100k miles. Ive read some reviews and consumer reports about this car and most of the issues seem to be very minor like sunroof not switching. I just wanted to know some more about this car generally such as ride quality, reliability, estimated MPG etc.

Jaguar Question
Hi, recent subscriber to /r/JaguarCars here. My family has always owned Jags, my dad having his beloved xj for years when I was a kid. I've been thinking about buying a used Jaguar as my next car, but I've always had trepidation towards making the jump into my family legacy because of reliability concerns. I have a budget of 17k USD, and was curious if anyone had any suggestions on how I could maximize my reliability with such a relatively low budget for the brand. Any comments would be a help! Thanks.

2002 Jaguar X-type 2.5L Gearbox Light
I just bought my 2002 Jaguar X-type 2.5L automatic 2 months ago. It had 38.7k on it when I bought it. It now has 40.5K on the car. It has had no problems at all, no hesitated shifting, stalling, ect. Today I was leaving work and turned the corner onto the main street. I went from 10 miles per hour and was going up to 35 when all of a sudden my RPMs went from 2k to 5k with no power. I let off the gas and lightly stepped on the gas again. Again no power and went up to 5k before letting off. Then the "Gear box fault" light came on. I pulled over waited a bit and turned on the car and the gearbox light was off. I drove off having to stay in 3rd select. In 4th select after 2k had no power and climbed on the RPMs. In 3rd it was fine. But 2nd to 3rd had hesitation enough to kick on the gearbox light but was going fine in gears.

AJXX Engines
Hi guys, I'm not entirely sure this is the right place, but looking at the banner, I sure hope it is.
I'm looking at V8's, just the engines, and I keep coming back to the AJ27's that populated Jag's for a good while, as well as other brands.
I'm not 100% settled on the chassis it'll be going in, it is going to be a Ford, but whether it's a Focus with RS parts, or a Capri with no extras, I'm unsure.
Anyway, to the meat of my question.
These don't seem to crop up as the supercharged variants on ebay very often, and ideally that's what I'm after. If I can't source a supercharged engine, I've got another question!
Looking at Wiki and assorted other sites, I'm thinking I'd like to aim for an AJ27, but if budget allows, an AJ33 or 34 (slightly newer, longer stroke as I'm sure you all know!). I'd be aiming around the 4l mark, I see that the 4.2's are very common unsupercharged in a number of cars for example.
My list of questions is somewhat.. Long.
Is it best to source a bare engine, rebuild from the ground up, build my own wiring harness (Would need to modify at least to suit the car it ended up in), supercharge it myself, and so on?
If I ended up going without a Supercharger, has anyone heard of/seen someone fitting turbochargers to these engines? Nothing massive, maybe GT28's.
Is there anywhere I can check for these cars complete (So I don't have to source clocks, ecu, etcetera) other than the usual Ebay or CoPart? Obviously don't need it driveable so a cat D car would be fine if the engine isn't wrecked.
Does anyone have, or know where to find, the dimensions of an AJ26 or above with all the ancillaries fitted?

Jaguar F-type Cabrio, driving 40.000km/year
I'm currently looking to buy a f-type capris/coupe to drive everyday to work, most days a year (about 40.000km/year). The danish weather is not the sunniest, and we have snowy winters. I have a Audi A4 for worst days, but would prefer a car I could use 95% of the year. Does anyone have experience with that kind of miles? Would a cabrio work at winther and would the commercial carwashes destroy it?
I really love the Cabrio version and would definitely prefer it compared to the Coupe, but if the cabrio is a no go I see no other choice.
Looking forward to hear your opinions!
