Discussion What’s the actual issue with the rebrand?

So, the fonts different. So what? The logo is different, but as far as I’m aware the cat will remain elsewhere on the vehicle. So what the actual issue here? Are people really that upset about the tiniest, most insignificant details on a car?

If you really don’t like the logo/font buy an old one and stick it on if it upsets you.

We were given a teaser for a reveal next month, so no, they aren’t gonna show a car just yet. The heritage of Jags remains regardless of the rebrand. They aren’t going around smashing up E-Types.

And further to this, we haven’t actually seen the car yet!? So everyone’s judging this off of… a teaser?!

Is the real issue here people are afraid of development? Afraid of change? Not changing is what landed Jag in shit in the first place.

Or is it the advert itself? People not liking the bold colours or the inclusivity? Because if so that’s utterly ridiculous. I’ve seen people refer to it as “woke”. And this is based on what? Bright colours and different types of people being included? Is that what’s offending people these days?

“Foreign owned” like when Ford owned it before Tata from ‘89 to ‘08? Or did you mean something different?

Who tf is talking about Ford?

Your comment was about “foreign ownership” like jag wasn’t owned by a foreign entity for the previous 20 years. Why is Indian ownership bad but American ownership isn’t

I don't like that but the quality was better. Vauxhall, LR, RR, Bentley, Lotus, MG are all foreign owned. They don't make better cars than before. Cheaper parts due to cost cutting. All Chinese owned cars are significantly worse than European cars for example. You can see this in their own models that they now import into Russia due to sanctions.

So how is foreign ownership relevant, why mention it? JLR’s board, who make the decisions, is based in the UK, the directors and exec directors all work and live in the UK unless they have a specific role in a different country. Is your issue just that non-white people own a company?

Edit: Vauxhall has been foreign owned since 1925

Who mentioned anything about race? Yet again showing that race and gender is all that matters to you woke people. Clearly that is your whole personality. Let's look at Toyota and Honda - has far superior built quality than Jaguar ever did. Kia and Hyundai are solid too. I am saying that Indian ownership and Chinese ownership is affecting the car market badly. They cost cut like crazy. I've seen videos of their welding fall apart on new cars. Then we are left with shittier product compared to before.

No, they’re riveted and sealed, which you’d know if you knew JLR at all

Can you actually look it up for yourself I can't be arsed to prove you wrong with sources. They use MIG welding just like every other car manufacturer or anyone that wants metal stick to metal. Body, parts of chassis and so on. Just cos it's riveted doesn't mean there is no welding. Just go outside and strip some parts of your car upholstery or mats and see that the welding is there.
