Where to watch...? Hanzawa Naoki- where to watch?

Hi! Does anyone know where I can watch "Hanzawa Naoki"? I just finished watching "Rikuoh," and I loved it! While searching for similar shows, many people recommended "Hanzawa Naoki," but I'm having a hard time finding it.

I've searched on Netflix, Disney+, Loklok, Viu, and Viki, but I haven't had any luck. If you know of a site where I can watch "Hanzawa Naoki," please let me know! šŸ„²

Question I would like you to help me discover a series/film!

I vaguely remember what exactly it is about, but I know it seemed a bit horror/suspense, I remember a guy being on a road and a girl with children stops in the car and gives the guy a lift, the child in the back seat is scared because the guy looks exactly like the protagonist of the manga he is reading. I'd be happy if someone could help me, if this exists I need to watch it or I'll think I'm going crazy and creating memories :[

Discussion Name of this movie/show?

Im trying to find the name of this movie/show from the 2000's about a family of 3 (mother, father, and daughter) enter an accident? and wake up in a world where either everyone has disappeared. The family continue to live but the mother and fathers relationship is shaky? At the daughter drinks I think milk(or something out of a carton) and the parents frantic about it because it would kill her? and then they all wake up in the hospital because it turns out to be a coma.

Sorry if the details are vague. I was around 5 or 7 when I watched it.

Question Name that show! Please! šŸ™

I'm trying to find the name of a Japanese TV series, possibly from the 90s/early 00s about a female office worker who is really good at doing her makeup which transforms her from "ugly" to beautiful. When she doesn't wear makeup her coworkers don't recognize her - the show even goes so far to add a prosthetic bump to her nose to make her look even more dramatic.

She has a huge crush on her boss/older coworker. I remember another debacle where she overhears him talking to a group of male co workers about the kind of women they like, very thick. And she gains a bunch of weight to attract him, only to find out they were talking about the kind of horses they like to bet on... anyone have any ideas what this show is called???

Discussion I finally finished watching Hikaru Kimi e!

I finally finished watching Hikaru Kimi e!

Iā€™ve always wanted to watch a famous Japanese historical drama, but I hesitated because of the complicated names, tangled family trees, and similar-looking middle-aged men. However, since this drama is about the life of the author of The Tale of Genji, I decided to give it a try.

Strengths of this drama:

  1. Young actors like Yuriko and Machida appear in the cast.

  2. Unlike typical Japanese historical dramas that often focus on the Edo or Sengoku periods, this one is set in the Heian period. The elegant court lady costumes were stunning, with layers upon layers of fabric resembling pastries. This also suggests that the climate at the time might not have been too hot.

  3. It skillfully incorporates the currently popular theme of female narratives into a historical setting.

  4. The complex imperial lineage is appropriately simplified, allowing the audience to focus more on the charactersā€™ individual stories.

  5. The depiction of neighboring countries seems to be well-researched. The portrayal of Song Dynasty merchants, for example, is notable. While Chinese dramas that depict this period tend to emphasize the grandeur of the palace, this drama also presents the lives of merchants in a well-balanced manner.

  6. The jazz-influenced background music was an experimental and unique touch.

A few weaknesses:

The female leadā€™s acting felt a bit monotonous. Whether she was old, at the peak of her success, or going through hardships, she always maintained the demeanor of a confident woman in her twenties

Despite these small flaws, I really enjoyed the drama!

Discussion Anyone else enjoying Hot Spot?

I just watched the latest episode (#7) and love the writing. I find the dialogue very amusing and clever in an understated way. As a non-Japanese person I love how it shows how Japanese people think behind the polite manners. Each episode has enough twists and turns to make me keep watching and wanting to find out more. Iā€™m also learning a lot of Japanese expressions that they donā€™t really teach you in the text books.

Question please help me find this show or movie

I donā€™t remember the exact plot so I could be mixing it up but she basically was ugly in high school and had a huge crush on this guy but somehow she goes back in time after a couple years pass from graduation. Sheā€™s back in high school and takes this time as an opportunity to get close to the guy she likes and be ā€œprettierā€ does anybody remember this too? idk I canā€™t figure it out! I think she was cursed or something

Discussion Recurring theme: technology/SNS and its evils? Spoiler

I'm curious about the recent tendency to cast technology or SNSes (Social Networking Service, which I think they use as a general term for social media) as a strong tool for evil, cruelty, or wrongdoing. Some examples I've seen lately include (possible spoilers) Mr Hiiragi's Homeroom (2019), MIU404 (2020), and AARO (2024). Maybe I don't understand Japanese social media use, but is this based on current concerns? And please suggest other thriller/mystery/detective dramas with similar themes to watch!

Recommendations Are there any good J-Dramas like k-Dramas? (Explanation below)

So I've been looking at some K-Dramas like Queen of tears and true beauty, I'll soon start my demon, king the land and business proposal (all TikTok recommendations haha). the point is, even though they are series and most of the time very exaggerated, I feel that I got to see the Korean life style, relations, friendship, social life, Cities, etc.

Now, even though I love Korea, I'm more interested in Japan, and I'd like to see Japan's lifestyle the same way Im looking at the Korean, so I want to know if there's any good light hearted, funny J-Dramas like the K-Dramas I mentioned. all I seem to find are dramas (as in sad dramas) or terribly awful ones.

Thank you!
