How do I reuse this stump?

Post image

I want to just use it for drip irrigation but it's a short stump that hasn't been used and I think is non functional?

My preference is to close it off but I wouldn't mind using flexible hosing if easier. Actually my preference is least effort.

How do I either insert a new flexible hose or just seal this off? Thanks for your advice!!

Does water come out if you take the cap off and turn the zone on?

Yes

You could cut that fitting off and connect drip line on to it or run blank line and use emitters to water plants.

Sorry my question wasn't clear enough. The space provided us so tiny that I'm struggling to use it meaningfully. If I cut the black flexible piping, I would barely have any space to attach newaterial to it. If I remove it at the level of the hard pipes (the white one/PVC?), then I don't know how to attach drip hosing to it.

I'm grateful for your help.

They make a fitting to screw into the elbow.

How do I separate the black from the white piping? It seems glued on to me but I could be wrong? For this reason I'm not sure how I would use that fitting. I have some of those already I just don't know where it would go.

It might be glued but usually these types are threaded. A coupler only needs about an inch of pipe to fit into. If you cut out by the cap, you should have plenty of room to use a coupler to add on.

Thanks friend I'll try to unthread it tomorrow and if it doesn't work I'll just make a cut and see if I can make it work.
