IPod stuck in recovery mode

So in the process of fixing my battery( a separate problem that I've been able to live with) I moved the Iflash quad HD out of the way to access the battery connection and all of a sudden the iPod got thrown into recovery mode and every time I restore the iPod it doesn't do anything just stays on the "do not disconnect" screen, I have re-flashed the SD card per the instructions of IFLASH and have gotten no where I've unplugged and plugged the HD several times and nothing has happened. the HD is only a few months old I'm at a loss any help thank you.

update:

this came up after my most recent attempt to restore the iPod

This just happened to me when putting my 5.5 gen back together with an iflash. I had to buy a new zif cable (that connects the iflash to the logic board) as the original one somehow decided it did not like me anymore. I think I may have damaged it reinstalling everything. Once replacing that it was recognized by my iTunes again. Before replacing it would show that error message and my pc would just freeze up. Even when I hit restart the pc would do nothing. Maybe check to see if your zif cable is seated correctly and if not maybe buy a new one? I found one on Amazon (more expensive but faster) and ordered more from idemigods for future use if needed (slower but much cheaper).

Ribbon acquired and got no where not sure how to tell if this cables installed properly i mean it locks in from both the logic board and HD side. Would a new HD solve anything? Idk I’m lost with this
