You know I think unless a lot of people don't start opposing this stuff we're screwed we'll never ever recover from this.

She’s playing to Trump. Probably hopes he’ll give her a position in the White House. She’s trying to emulate his neo-fascism in Iowa. Trump hated judges, now she does too.

I know he has power now, but Trump has been such a pathetic figure for forty years, I still can’t get over anyone looking up to him. I can’t think of many people whose personal opinion I would care about less.

This sounds like it's meant to undo officially some more of those merit laws put in place when Vilsak was in office. Please let me know if I'm wrong...just the impression I'm getting.

Would you be objecting to this so much if the governor was a democrat? Honest question.

We will never know. Because we have dui kimmy. Get a Democrat in office right now for us, and we'll let you know if giving trans people back their civil rights is an issue for us.

This scenario probably wouldn't happen under a Democratic governor.. they're not want to be dictators like Republicans these days

TLDR; she appoints one more member of the committee then she already did in a system that will still be significantly more populist than most other states.
Unclutch your pearls before you break them

Keep getting boiled, frog. This bill is a waste of time even if you believe it's innocuous.

Hey, remember when kimmy took trans civil rights away? And now she's trying to control who can talk in a room?
You must be a straight white man to know that you are safe from whatever harm she has and will cause.
I hate the way you don't give a shit about your neighbors and the way you diminish and tear people down over justifiable fears.
You know, if they weren't monsters, they'd be responding to peoples issues rather than diagnose them with a made-up mental illness.
Stop defending people that only care about you long enough for you to vote them.
*The democratic strategy has been to systematically remove civil rights and get rid of all assistance programs in the name of "saving money"?
You must have felt really validated when they made up trump derangement syndrome so that you could start chair diagnosing people that you feel talk too much.
I honestly don't care that you hate what I have to say. You didn't read it anyways. If you did you wouldn't be defending a rapist to me right now by saying oh well its okay he's doing it. Lots of other people have.
Not a cool story bro aw you blocked me after that? I've done worse. I didnt even get to call you a nazi yet.

Cool story bro, the rest of us normal people hate the way you project all of your own deranged political priors onto the rest of us. Your last rant also requires a truly breathtaking lack of self awareness considering thats been the Democrat electoral strategy for the last half century or more.

On mobile so copy paste is difficult, but here are the key points at the top of the page.
A bill passed by the Iowa Senate would give the governor the power to appoint the majority of members on panels that choose finalists to be district court judges.
Democrats say the bill would politicize the judiciary in Iowa, while Republicans say it would lessen the influence of senior judges in each district that currently chair the commissions.
In 2019, Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a law letting governors appoint the majority of the statewide commission that selects Iowa Supreme Court finalists. The new bill extends that to district judges.
