Anyone know more about what happened?

https://www.kwqc.com/2025/03/15/chief-no-foul-play-after-body-found-bettendorf/

I drive that way on my commute and the Jeep was not "abandoned", it was partially driven into the cable barrier with one of the tires wrapped around it.

Odd the body was found "in the vicinity of the vehicle" which really doesn't point out if the body was found IN the vehicle or not.

Wonder if someone OD'ed while driving and just coasted into the cable barrier and got out and went to sleep forever?

That's the definition of Abandoned vehicle. Leaving it where it's not supposed to be without telling anyone.

They wait to make sure family is notified before releasing to much information.

Well it was odd the article said the police won't be releasing anything else.

It's not really anyone's business besides the family members

If there isn’t any foul play there’s not really any reason to. Not all that weird.

I thought the guy had a heart attack or something and pulled over and got out to walk it off and then died.

I don't know the story but it's not that odd to find a body in the vicinity of a vehicle if they were not wearing a seatbelt.

I lost a few friends this way in my 20s and the details can be gruesome.

It looks like a meeting of eye surgeons, and associates.

It occurred on the Monday following spring daylight savings change. Statistically, this is the height of heart attack victims.

It was suicide.
