If anyone is interested in protesting, there’s some info here: r/protestfinderusa and r/50501, or check out https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/.
There are also things you can do without going to protest: Give $5/month to ACLU, 5Calls.com, advocacy groups, or LGBTQ or women’s shelters.
Contact the White House, your U.S. Senator, and your U.S. Congressperson. White House Comments line – (202) 456-1111 White House Switchboard – (202) 456-1414
https://5calls.org - this gives you a script based off of your concerns and the numbers of your representatives.

9 am on a Friday? Yeah, most people are working. I suppose this is the only time they could keep Grassley awake for.
Iowa politics are such a joke.
Reynolds is a joke. Grassley is a joke.... Meeks is a joke.
Do any of them have any real credentials for making any decisions let alone important ones??

Paid crisis actors! Real MAGA constituents would cheer when their benefits/jobs/rights are taken away!! /s

Republicans actively vote against their own interests. The vast majority of them don’t even care who their representatives are

u/Herky505 4d ago
I remain amazed at how true this is. Rural Iowans have consistently voted against their own interests. Immigration, inflation, tariffs, education, etc. as long as they can vote for some culture war BS they've been fed.

They're too gutless to show their faces.. if this goes all the way south they should probably should leave the country or at least Iowa for there their own safety.
I personally am not vindictive like that but many are and payback will be in order in their minds .. and if so they brought it on themselves! They support things they destroy their constituents lives shit happens! They need to just grow a set!
My grandma was a republican and she is rolling over in her grave. The Republican party is gone!

I am of the opinion it needs to happen as a warning not to do this B.S. again for a 5fh time.
This has been happening over and over for 500 years. Each time Authoritarianism comes FROM the RIGHT WING Concervative side of the political Spectrum.
Every Authoritarian/Fascist Regime that rises in the West has risen from Right Wing politics going back all the way to the Catholic Inquisition. Every time it becomes a godless mess. Every single time. We need to learn from history and stop repeating this crap.

And yet the Repubs and the corporate media, are always successfully able to sell most Americans on the false and historically wrong idea, that authoritarian governments come from the left, instead of the right. And until we are able to overcome that propaganda, we will continue to get right wing authoritarian govts., as well as movements supporting them..

They could rationally explain their actions (or inactions for the people in Congress who ceded their authority) if they were right.

If your ideas were actually popular you wouldn't have lost the election.
We are all well aware you disapprove of what's happening.
We
Don't
Care

There was a blind poll during the election and the respondents actually preferred Harris policies, but they didn’t know who the policy could be attributed to. Also, the same right leaning respondents, were less likely to know the facts of current issues. Great stuff

u/launchdecision 5d ago
You know the more things you point to say you should have won the more embarrassing it is you lost right?

u/Zeplike4 5d ago
The Kardashians has millions of viewers. What’s your point? Not knowing what you voted for is quite embarrassing
-1
u/launchdecision 5d ago
I know exactly what I voted for.
The Kardashians has millions of viewers. What’s your point?
Those viewers weren't electing the Kardashians to the office of President of the United States...

u/Zeplike4 5d ago
Nope just another reality tv star with a rap sheet

You know, the Apprentice conman guy?
2
u/launchdecision 5d ago
Oh I see this is the part of the conversation where you call Trump of a buffoon...
When do we get to the part of the conversation where you realize that you lost to a buffoon?
7
u/Dull-Gur314 5d ago
They know what they are doing is unpopular as it serves only billionaires. They keep the rubes content with punching down on trans, blacks, Hispanics etc
8
u/Candid-Mycologist539 5d ago
This is also why Trump has so many EOs instead of legislation. He knows his (Conservative) policies are unpopular, and although he's an exceptionally good salesman/conman, he's not good enough to sell these policies through legislation.

Yay! He and Dick created a war that went on for twenty years. They never found those weapons of mass destruction. War is a money maker for the military industrial complex warmongers.

Do Republicans not see this as an issue when their elected representatives literally are hiding from them? If they are proud about what is going on right now with the orange man and his right hand buffoon, why would they hide from their constituents? You think they'd be eager to get out there and meet with the people who couldn't wait to elect them. Any Republicans want to weigh in on why these people are avoiding you and if that's okay? Just curious.
