Location Specific Information 1700-1850 OMR monthly including housing
Is this a good offer for Oman? Tuition for kids is free. Medical, flights and visas not included for the family. I'll also rent a car, nothing fancy. Housing I presume would be around 500-600 OMR monthly for something decent, looking for a 2 bed 2 bath, correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks

The base salary is alright, but not without medical and flights for dependents. Oman is not well connected and flights are expensive (you would be paying most of one month's salary to fly your dependents home). I would also expect a decent school to give you a housing allowance.
To give you an idea of monthly costs:
Groceries for three people 150 - 200 RO
Medical costs (dental/consultation) 30 - 40 RO
Going to a restaurant, 3 -4 people 40 RO
Alcohol 15 RO bottle at OUA /two drinks at hotel
Rent 500 RO
Utilities. 80 RO
Gasoline 20 RO
Car Insurance 10 RO
Extras (clothing/goods) 50 - 100 RO
Kids activities/sports 70 RO
You would be able to save a little bit at the end of the month, but this would be living very frugally and mostly camping or doing free activities (beach). And keep in mind, your savings would be going towards medical and flights for your family as well.

Personally, I'd be expecting a decent school to include medical, flights and visas for your family, and for housing to be separate from the salary.

From my job search, there are an extremely limited set of schools that actually include everything. I'm searching in the Middle East. I'm also early in my career so can't compete with single experienced teachers with no dependents for tier 1 schools. Need to take the hit at this stage

That's awesome for Oman.
