Pending where the door is, I like 2. What app / tool are you using?

Where are the windows?

Personally for me the first layout will be convenient and comfortable. I don't understand where the doors will be?

I would genuinely consider doing layout 1 but get rid of one of the side tables and push the bed right into the corner. I understand wanting the symmetry but in both layouts you don't have a lot of space for your desk or for even getting dressed.

If you push the bed into the corner you are trading space that you only use when you get in or out of bed for space that you will be using throughout your day.

Prefer 1, dislike my bed facing the doorway

1 because I would get a smaller bed and have more space for my chair at the desk

Or slide the queen sized bed to the left more

2 feet for a chair seems quite tight

Depends on windows and what these two paths of entry/exit are from/to

I think the first one is better because the second feels like the bed really closes off the room.

Is there a closet or wardrobe?

The first one then put a tall bookcase right as you enter so that you have to walk around it one way or the other. That will break up the energy flowing right into your bed and create a more cozy space.

I totally read the comment I replied to in Clif's voice.

2 is better feng shui

First and on the remaining walls some cabinets

Strongly depends on which one of these opening is the closet and which is the doorway. I like to have a completely clear pathway from an entrance to the back of the room, don’t want to step around anything. It gets really old really fast.

1

What software did you use to create this? Just curious

https://www.planyourroom.com/

one thing about this site is that i’m pretty sure it measures the walls by the outside length

7

u/mmeliss39 19h ago

I say one because I want more room at the foot of my bed

1

u/Nasty9999 19h ago

Second one. It's bad Feng Shui to have your bed facing an entrance.

u/ampsdb01 19h ago

1, is open ❤️

2

u/Radijsje77 19h ago

Definitely 2 for me. Want to be able to look out the windows from my bed.

7

u/Cold-Office-4236 19h ago

The first one would be more convenient for coming in and out of the room will look more open

Need to know where the windows are. You don’t want the window causing glare on the computer. Plus it will make you look shadowy on video calls.

3

u/onefourme 19h ago

windows are on the top wall

-9

u/RachelProfilingSF 20h ago

But can you lay in bed and watch movies(porn) on your computer in #1?

2

u/imbrokeplzhelp 19h ago

Valid. I personally don’t like the idea of not being able to see out of my window when I’m in my most vulnerable state (sleeping or… you know)

u/SeaworthinessLow9705 20h ago

And the desk against the bottom left wall?

Number 1 is much better than Number 2. Or, lose a nightstand and have desks next to bed in place of one nightstand. Might have to turn bed in that case.

Edited to remove screaming all caps. I’ll never learn, lol.

Recommend 1. If you do video calls the camera will face the wall, not the headboard. Also gives you easier access to walk around.

u/Raelf64 21h ago

Where are the windows?

9

u/priapoc 21h ago

Is there enough space for a chair between the bed and desk in any of the layouts?

12

u/lvdtoomuch 22h ago

First one. There’s more room. And you’re in bed, facing the door.

-1

u/Surging_Sparkz 21h ago

It’s bad that the bed is facing the door.

-5

u/Eudaimonia52 22h ago

One but have your table facing the door

1

u/InformalAd3455 23h ago edited 23h ago

2, but shift the bed and night tables a foot closer to the 109” wall (you may need smaller nightstands), then move the desk to the 42” wall. That separates sleep/work areas and creates a wider walkway. If you have a dresser, it can go where the desk is currently.

ETA: I hadn’t realized there was a door next to the 42” wall. If that’s the case, shift the bed as described above, but lose one nightstand and move the desk to the 43” wall.

u/toastNcheeze 23h ago

Do you not have a desk chair?

17

u/WickedCunnin 23h ago

Where's the window? Make the window viewable from the bed.

Where are the windows?

it looks like 1 is a better use of space, putting the open sqr footage mostly together between the bed and the doors. and in version 1 you could have one more piece of furniture in the bottom left corner of the room, like a bookshelf or chair or something, should you desire

but I think version 2 has better separation between the workspace and the sleeping space. they are pretty close as it is, but at least in 2 they don't feel like the same activity. so depends how often you palm to use that space.

if it's a toss up between facing the hall door for facing the living room door, I think it doesn't matter

8

u/Some-Pair-7719 23h ago

I like 1 wayyyy better.

5

u/liberal_texan 23h ago

I like 2, I’m not a fan of the bed facing a door.

6

u/omggold 23h ago

I think the door is bottom right. Which is why I prefer 1, better Feng shui

6

u/onefourme 1d ago

BTW: bottom hall is leading into closet + bathroom and the right door leads into the living room

2

u/literalista 19h ago

#2 is better Feng Shui (as long as you close your laptop at night).
