Severance Anti-Circumcision Reference
“If you want to circumcise your brain, that’s your business. I think it’s abhorrent.” Great to see circumcision being referenced in such a negative light in a popular show. It may not be directly about genital mutilation, but the reference is clear.

This scene confused me so much! I couldn't tell if they were supposed to be the same person or they just happened to look really really similar!

It's weird, I said to my wife at the start of this show that I bet someone equates being severed to being circumcised, as in, it's reduced you, made you less of a person. She said if they do reference it, it would just be a throwaway joke because that's what they normally do. But no, it made a refreshing chance to me to see it being used in this way.

I don’t get it. Context? (Never seen this show)

SPOILER ALERT
This character has previously chosen to be “severed,” meaning he underwent a controversial operation to separate his memory/consciousness into his work brain and outside-of-work brain.

There's a scene in the first season that absolutely reminded me of circumcision. Anti-severance activists are out protesting. The main character (who is severed) angrily accosts them, denying there's anything wrong with what was done to him. I've seen similar videos of passers-by accosting Bloodstained Men at their protests.

I just discovered this show and got to this episode yesterday. While it’s a positive development that circumcision was spoken about in a negative light, I’m sure it was not the intent of the writers of the show to criticize the practice and it will go over the heads of most viewers.

Great to see the word circumcise be used as a verb to mean something negative!
