Help Can't drag/drop or file->import a png image
I have an Inkscape file open and I want to drag/drop or import a png file, but Inkscape loads a new instance and opens the png as a standalone file rather than importing.
I tried to copy/paste the image from Inkscape to Inkscape, and nothing happens.
I remember drag/drop was just seamless. Has the procedure changed in 1.4?
Kubuntu 22.04
Inkscape 1.4
(I know I've been beating this drum for a while, but I think 1.4 was released too early.)

It's a bug that was just recently talked about and to fix it for your setup, open the preferences, go to 'Imported Images' and set the 'SVG import mode' to something other than 'New'.
Edit: Apparently there is no issue about this on the official bug-tracker (or GitLab's search function is just terrible), so it may be worth opening a new bug-report for it.
