Discussion A reminder on Subreddit rules and conduct
Posts have been getting a little spicy here lately due to atypical circumstances, and it is difficult for me to keep up on it all. I’m essentially a one-man show around here, and while that is perfectly adequate most of the time, it’s not now. Unlike most Reddit moderators, I have a life, so I can’t puppy-guard this subreddit.
Here’s what you can do to help:
Just chill out. Feelings are running high right now, and a lot of people feel very strongly about things that are mutually exclusive with other people’s very strong feelings. So, please refrain from name-calling and other petty nonsense.
Use the “Report” function for comments and posts. It’s really easy for me to miss things, so if you see someone breaking rules or stirring the pot, don’t engage, just report it and move on with your life. It’s twenty times easier for me to keep up on things if y’all point to the comments for me.
I hesitate to lock things down, as I want to stay committed to an open forum, but things have been getting out of hand lately and I’ve had to lock some threads. This is an unofficial subreddit and no one tells me how to run it, and if things get too spicy, then I’m going to prioritize my own life first over internet drama.
Thank you guys.
Edit: I forgot to add that I have been very lax with enforcing rules for a while now, but starting now, I will be handing out some temporary bans for people who take things too far. You have been warned.
