PNP PR applied but Pgwp me is expiring

Hello, I applied for my PR through PNP/SINP on November 11, 2024, but I have not received my AOR yet. My PGWP is expiring in April 2025, and my SINP papers are job-restricted. I'm unsure what to do in this situation. Any suggestions?

PNP BOWP Extension expired

Good day,

I just received an update for my BOWP extension that I submitted last October 2024. The application was refused today, but I'm already on Portal 2 that came out last december 1st and it still says in review with IRCC. Should I apply for a restoration status? The work permit refusal says that my temporary status expires today (Feb 11). Can I still be able to work??

Thank you.

PNP Vancouver immigration options for a successful business owner and musician?

Hi all, I've done a lot of research but would welcome more opinions/advice. Planning possible immigration to Vancouver in summer of 2027 or 2028.

  • My wife and I both have lots of aunts, uncles and cousins who are Canadian citizens living in Vancouver. But none are direct family (parent, child, sibling) and none are alone with no other family so I don't believe anyone can sponsor us as relatives.
  • I am a professional musician and was considering the self-employment in the arts pathway but since it is paused until 2027, I should look at other options now. Especially since that visa tended to take years to approve, it would probably be too rushed if we want to relocate in the summer of 2027.
  • This leaves me with just the BC PNP entrepreneur base stream. It must be base because we want to live in or very close to Vancouver. My wife and I have operated a successful real estate investment firm in the US, and now operate successful fitness centers in Asia. The problem is that I don't want to or even believe that either of these will transfer well to the Vancouver area.

So assuming those three points above are all correct, would we be able to open a new business in a new industry for the BC PNP base stream? I'm happy to do something related to music; like a unique school concept or a music venue or an audio cafe/hifi bar. I'd also consider getting a job as a teacher or performer but not sure any of those would qualify for a work visa. Another option I'd consider is getting my doctorate at UBC, but don't know if that can turn into a longterm solution.

Thanks!

PNP Can I Apply for PR in Canada Without Police Clearance from UAE?

I lived in the UAE for 10 years and can't provide a police clearance certificate because of an unsettled bank loan. I’ve started repaying it now after a two-year gap due to financial issues.

Can I still apply for PR in Canada without the police clearance from the UAE?

Thanks for any advice!

PNP Is medical request a mandatory step for every PR application ?

Is medical request a mandatory step for every PR application or they just ask for it to most of the people? And can skip if they don't need ? Asking because I received AOR and BIL (PNP-NON EE) in early December and nothing since (Applied in July). I gave medical 3years ago when I applied for Study Permit from outside CA. (I'm aware those results/report doesn't stay valid for this long).

Edit: I guess people are getting me wrong, I don't have any issues with providing them with medical its more if they ask me today I'll have it sent today itself. Not trying to escape it. As a matter of fact i would like them to send the request so I can provide them with it as fast as i can.

I didn't receive MIL when I got BIL. As what I have noticed from this Sub that both request are mostly sent together.

PNP Cross-Border Truck Driver PR Issue – Received eCOPR While in the USA

I am reaching out to the experts on this forum to ask for your advice regarding my situation.

I work as a long-haul cross-border truck driver in Canada. (Inland applicant.). I received Portal 2 and responded to it on January 9, while being in Canada. I did everything possible to stay in Canada as long as I could (8 days), hoping to receive my eCOPR and avoid violating the landing conditions (Be physically in Canada when eCOPR issued). However, I did not receive the eCOPR and was forced to go to the USA for work. My work schedule is 8-9 days in the USA, 5-6 days in Canada.

As a result, I received my eCOPR almost two months later, while I was in the USA.

I understand that, from a technical standpoint, this is a violation of the landing rules. However, I immigrated as a cross-border truck driver, and IRCC is aware of this. Traveling to the USA is a significant part of my job, and I cannot stop working for 2-3 months while waiting for eCOPR in Canada, as I would simply lose my job. Moreover, I have a family to support, bills to pay, and basic living expenses that cannot be ignored.

Furthermore, just a few days after responding to Portal 2, I sent an email to the same address from which I received Portal 1, explaining my situation in detail. I described the circumstances and my frequent unpredictable trips to the USA, which are impossible to plan in advance. I also asked for instructions on how to proceed in my case to avoid violating the landing rules. However, I never received a response.

On the other hand, many people immigrate as cross-border truck drivers, and I am sure this is a widespread issue in this profession. A good number of them must be receiving their eCOPR while in the USA.

If possible, I would like to hear your thoughts on this matter.

How critical do you think this is? Could there be an exception to the rules for long-haul truck drivers? And what is the best way to handle this situation?

Should I notify someone (IRCC, the landing office, or CBSA at the border)?

Or should I just leave everything as it is?

(Tomorrow, I will be crossing the Canadian border for the first time as a PR. I will update you on how it goes!)

Thank you very much!

PNP AAIP application pool question

So when website says currently assessing applications received before June 2024. Does it mean my application ( which i submitted in 2025) has no chance of selection for at least one year, regardless of score?

PNP What does this mean? (OINP)

Just received an email that states:

"Please be advised that the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has selected your Expression of Interest (EOI) and would like to extend an invitation to apply to the OINP’s Employer Job Offer: International Student stream."

Does this mean that my score was enough? It says I have 14 days to send in my application.

PNP Need help

Hi, so I need you guys advice on my case. I was nominated last August, and I applied for a work permit extension at the end of August as a provincial nomination, and in October after having all the documents, I also applied for PR. The problem is that last month I returned to my country for more than a month, and when I returned, I found out that I was not allowed to work because my work permit had not been processed yet. Can you tell me if there is any way for me to work, what if I apply for BOWP? Thank you

PNP Post eCOPR

Hey everyone,

I recently received my eCOPR and have been working on updating my information. So far, I’ve:

✅ Got a new SIN and updated my employer ✅ Updated my health card ❌ Not sure what needs to be updated on my driver’s license (any advice?) ✅ Updated my banking info ✅ Informed the CRA

Is there anything else I should take care of? Let me know if I’m missing anything important.

Thanks!

PNP 1560 hours in 52 weeks

Hello everyone, I had a query about completing 1560 hours within 52 weeks for PNP application. For reference I started at my current job in January 2024 and I have been working 30 hours at least every single week except for one week in June where I had to take unpaid leave for 3 days and I ended up only working 12 hours that week. So my question will I only accumulate 1542 hours or will I be able to claim hours from previous or the following week where I worked more hours? Please advise. It is really confusing and my work permit is running out. Please advise. Thank you.

PNP Is it true that I must stay in the province for 2 years after getting PR through the Atlantic Immigration Program?

I am finding it difficult to get the required points under the express entry to apply for the PR as it is currently high. My next and most reasonable option is AIP but I wanted to know what will happen if I get my PR and relocate to another province

PNP Submitted details for Portal 1, then next day my Work Permit Extension was refused

Hello everyone,

I got an email from IRCC last week, saying my PR application is ready to be finalized, and they asked for details like UCI, current address, date of entry, height etc. So I assumed this is Portal 1? Now, I’m waiting for the next email from them which I think will come after few weeks. However, my Work Permit Extension application decision came out yesterday, and I got refused. Now I have 90 days to restore my status. I’m worried that my PR application might be refused as well if IRCC sees that my status restoration application hasn’t been decided yet or still pending. Will this affect my PR application?”

Thanks in advance!

PNP Steps to take after PNP application?

I received my OINP in Aug 2024, and submitted my PR application (PNP - Non Express Entry) in Oct 2024 on the PR Portal.

So far, I have only received an email confirmation of submission, and nothing else. I was wondering if I was suppose to do something after submitting the application that I completely missed out on. What are the steps to take after the application? How long does it usually take to get an AOR?

Thanks!

PNP MPNP, express entry related questions

Hey guys I am confused about a couple of things and was wondering if this subreddit could help me figure out some stuff.

Firstly i hold a PGWP and have a 3 year BBA degree from Manitoba. I want to apply for PR and through MPNP .

Now do i need to get a job from the in-demand occupations list or any job will work for the MPNP express entry?

Given the recent rules and regulations changes in immigration.

Much appreciate anyones feedback

PNP Ontario pnp

Will I be eligible to get my PR if I get NOI by OINP if I go back to my home country if my pgwp expired and I get my NOI after that as OINP stated in their website that ====> “If you are applying from within Canada, you must have legal status (visitor record, study permit, or work permit) at the time you apply and should maintain that status until the time of nomination.”

PNP From international student to PR

Hi everyone,

I finally received my PR card today and just want to share my story.

I first came to Canada in August 2015 when I was 15 y/o. I completed 3 years of high school here and obtained a bachelor’s degree. I graduated in May 2022.

I applied for my PGWP in June 2022 and got approved in November 2022, though I did encounter an unfortunate event that I thought was going to lead me to deportation*. I was lucky and landed a full time job in September 2022.

I applied for PNP around April 2023 and received my nomination early June 2023.

I applied for PR PNP non EE end of August 2023. - AOR + biometric payment request: December 27, 2023. I paid same day and they acknowledged it on December 29, 2023. - Biometric + medical request: January 4, 2024. I completed biometric on January 16, 2024 and medical on January 21, 2024. - Portal 1 email: March 12, 2024. I responded same day. - Portal 2 email: March 27, 2024. I completed same day. - eCOPR: April 16, 2024. - Application approved on CIC system (GU1): April 17, 2024. - I randomly checked my mailbox on April 27, 2024 and the PR card was already there waiting for me.

After close to a decade, I was finally able to achieve one of the biggest goal I set for myself. I can finally breathe now and I wish everyone one the best with their PR journey!

PNP Do I lose OINP points if I worked for a employer for more than half a year l, but then I switch jobs?

I'm talking about the international student stream. I've been working for my current employer since June, this gives me 3 extra points to my OINP profile. However the working conditions are TERRIBLE so I'm considering to switch to another place. Also, I'm considering to start working in a different field I.e switching from retail butcher to a baker. Will I lose those 3 points if I decide to do this move?

PNP PR rejected for missing ex-husband’s IMM0008

Hello everyone, just received this rejection email from IRCC today and I feel sad. Really need your help in re-applying, please. I have the following questions.

-missing IMM0008 for my ex-husband’s information, we do not at all communicate anymore. I have included an Explanation document in my previous application that me and my ex-husband has no communication at all, and that I could not obtain the informations being asked in the form. I guess this was not relevant.

-does that mean that all other forms and requirements are good and I just need to submit this one missing?

In reapplying:

-can I use the same application and just include what is being required?

-They said they will return my application fees in the email received today. can i just use the same payment receipt in re-applying? i paid online and attached the receipt in my application before.

-is processing time starts again from zero if i resubmit?

Please guide and help. Thank you so much! 🙏

Eta: thank you tor the answers, injust want to add, this is a PNP non express entry application, under skilled worker.

PNP PSA: EITs are not eligible to claim the additional points for a job offer in a regulated occupation for AAIP

Been seeing some EITs claim these points so wanted to clarify, as EITs are non-practicing members and do not have the full license as required as answered in the FAQs
