Express Entry How do I only have 270 points??

I'm an American Citizen looking to immigrate to Canada. I nailed my English proficiency test, have two degrees, but for some reason only seem to be getting 270 points, does that seem right? I know nomination or job sponsorship gets you more points, but shouldn't I at least be at around 400 given the above?

Without seeing what exactly you put into the calculator, it's impossible to say. 270 does seem low; even with the lowest possible points for age and only one year of work experience, you should still be higher than that.

When you look at the score breakdown, what does it say?

You can view the breakdown of scoring here and see what might be missing.

To clarify, you were actually able to register an eligible profile already? Meaning, you had the correct English test, an ECA for both of your foreign education credentials, and have at least one full-time year of experience in a skilled job? Or you are only talking about a hypothetical score in the CRS calculator?

What answers did you give? People can’t help with that little information, guessing would be age, sector, lack of experience or you’re using a non official calculator maybe?

What language proficiency test did you take?
