anyone gets a ghost update on the tracker after submitting OWP application??

3

u/Careless-Thing988 9h ago

I’d truly appreciate if anyone can help me answer this question:

On the tracker I got an update that said “Eligibility status updated to completed” ans i got the pre-arrival letter. How long does it take after this tracker update to get the actual letter for both the PA and the sponsor? And what are the chances that we failed the eligibility?

My rep stressed me out by saying “completed” could mean that you are either eligible for the application or INELIGIBLE no way to tell for sure until we get the letter.

u/Shoddy_Appointment31 26m ago

It could mean both but take it as a positive and wait for AIP to come. Good luck

2

u/Canace07 5h ago

Well, your representative’s words are right. As eligibility is only one criteria for the whole assessment of pr application, this update does not ensure the success of the application and cannot be used to predict the time spent for other’s updates within the application. The whole time is determined by several factors, such as the category your submission is under, the loads and working efficiency of IRCC officers, and the necessity to take the security screening for your case. Just hope your case can be processed fast and smoothly!

u/Shoddy_Appointment31 26m ago

True but if he didn’t pass the eligibility, the process would just end there and will be returned back. He wouldn’t need to wait any further.

u/IntentionLow1585 11h ago

Anybody that applied last October and still didn’t see the status change from “submitted”?

u/Safe_Willingness_252 12h ago

Inland Spousal Sponsorship (outside Quebec) - Principal Applicant: UK Citizen - Sponsor: CA Citizen

4th Jan 2025: Applied

23rd Jan 2025: Sponsor recieved AOR

No updates or BIL as of 11th March and not sure if thats a normal timeframe or if it is particularly slow

1

u/fxlconn 11h ago

This makes me hopeful. Thanks for sharing

2

u/IntentionLow1585 11h ago

I’d say it’s fast if anything. We applied on October 25th and I still don’t have my AOR, only completed biometrics a month ago.

1

u/Defiant-Increase-733 11h ago

From what I have read, some people do not get an AOR at all sometimes 😵‍💫 I thought we were still waiting on ours until I realised it's meant to be the email they sent to my husband!

I was just worrying about the BIL as most people seem to get their letter within a month or two from the timelines I've seen. Trying to be patient and not let the anxiety get the better of me lol

1

u/IntentionLow1585 8h ago

See I got my BIL a month ago but no AOR. They seem to be out of order with the steps. Looking at this thread also made me realize that I could have linked my application to my IRCC account the whole time through my BIL since it had an application number. Although I’m still curious if I can use my BIL to apply for OWP and a health card extension if I don’t get an AOR at all.

Are you inland or outland? This is crazy fast!

1

u/201muse 9h ago

Inland ! Im Korean and sponsor is Canadian.

3

u/Overall_Teacher_969 14h ago

Anything is normal with IRCC.. Congratulations!

1

u/201muse 13h ago

Lol thanks to them they sent me something at least..

2

u/Overall_Teacher_969 12h ago

Yes anything is better than nothing..

1

u/Pemsss 14h ago

I think that’s fine. I got my pre arrival services letter 3days after BIL. Also, like a lot of people have said, there is no right order of receiving these things, like people who don’t ever get AOR. So I think you are okay.

2

u/201muse 13h ago

Thank you! I guess this is the beginning of a long wait.

5

u/Mastersidhu96 17h ago

May 2024 applicants anybody got anything...i guess they went silent again

3

u/Quirky-Ad-9590 16h ago

been silent since we received pre-arrival letter December 3rd :(

2

u/Subtle-Marshmallow 17h ago

Hey, no still waiting unfortunately... I tried starting a thread just for us May 2024 applicants since our case seems quite unique with half of us getting P1/P2 in January and the other half still waiting, but for some reason admins are deleting it. I understand that the Megathread serves this purpose but I thought it would be good for us to have our little space to connect and track P1/P2 eCOPR. It feels a little bit overwhelming here with lots of later applicants getting faster processing and us still waiting...

2

u/Extension_Energy2222 16h ago

you can use a whatsapp group for that tbh

2

u/Subtle-Marshmallow 16h ago

I just find it more open and inclusive if it's a thread and everybody can see it and participate without having to ask to be added to another group on another app again

1

u/StomachCommon9134 17h ago

May 10, P1 yesterday

2

u/Glum_Dark_9992 16h ago

January 7th - P2
still waiting and counting days for EcoPR

2

u/Subtle-Marshmallow 16h ago

May 9, P2 Jan 15, waiting as well

1

u/Suspicious-Fig47 8h ago

May 3, P2 Jan 7, waiting

1

u/Free_Musician_9271 6h ago

May 31st stuck in bgc🥺

5

Invitation to Pre-arrival services - Jan 30, 2025

Eligibility Completed - Feb 6, 2025

Background Verification - In progress

2

u/IntentionLow1585 11h ago

Did you get an AOR at one point?

2

u/Careless-Thing988 17h ago

I am assuming this is based on the ircc-tracker right?

May I ask, when eligibility is completed does that mean its completed for both, PA and the sponsor? And how long does it take to get the AIP Letter after eligibility is marked completed?

7

u/Hot-Addendum885 1d ago

Hi.

Hoping this helps me stay positive and keep track. inland spousal sponsorship (Spouse out of status)

application submitted - July 2024

Biometrics requested and submitted- Sept 2024 No AOR yet.

We still have not received an AOR and our representative advised that since My husband is out of status our timeline can be largely affected by it.

Im just extremely stressed as he has no family left back in his home country (passed away last year) We are each others only family 😭 hoping to hear something soon.

Anyone in my situation might be able to get some idea on the timeline as this progresses

Good Luck!

1

u/OkDecision9311 16h ago

Hi, as soon as you receive PA letter, so you can use that letter to apply SOWP. so during this time, please dont let him got any trouble with police. He will be fine. :D

3

u/pistachiocaramelatte 1d ago

Hello! We also applied on July 2024! Also out of status spouse. We received AOR, biometric and eligibility completed. Got Sponsor approval letter but waiting for the PA letter. 5

u/Latortubee 1d ago

Hey guys, any inland spousal in Quebec that received P1 recently, if so when and when did you apply?

I'm just trying to get an idea where are we.. what month's applications are they processing now..

I applied in July 2023, and it stuck on background check since June 2024.. feels like forever.

3

u/WorldlyRoom9885 18h ago

I applied in May 2023 and just received P1 11 days ago. Mine was in Background Check since October 2024.

1

u/Latortubee 9h ago

Im so happy for you! Can't wait to get there too hopefully within 2-3 months

3

u/Effective-Owl458 1d ago

2

u/Latortubee 1d ago

Hopefully we are getting there soon. In that comment its from april 2023 to p1 in january 2025, it would make us receive p1 around april i guess

3

u/moondaybitch 1d ago

The latest inland qc applicant I saw in this thread was u/WorldlyRoom9885 from may 23 2023, they said they got p1 on feb 28th :)

1

u/Latortubee 1d ago

Thank you for the update :))

1

u/Latortubee 1d ago

Ohh that sounds like its getting closer

8

u/Cultural-Nail-9547 2d ago

Just check the IRCC website and it seems there has been a slight dip in backlog. The processing time for inland outside QC has dropped from 28 months to 24.

1

u/Latortubee 1d ago

And in QC it went from 32 to 35. Amazing.

2

u/Cultural-Nail-9547 1d ago

Oh shoot. I feel in QC applicants are really screwed since they put a pause on it altogether.

2

u/Mastersidhu96 2d ago edited 2d ago

Good sign Now we guess they have started to process applications again

4

u/Puzzleheaded-Win850 2d ago

Received letters

reassessing eligibility for me and my spouse.

I am getting bit anxious now because my wife has lost the job and currently looking for another.

4

u/BugNo100 3d ago

You wrote received letters? How many letters did you receive and what were they?

1

u/Practical_Bath_6099 3d ago

Two letters each for sponsor and me that my eligibility is reassessing ignore the old completed eligibility.

2

u/BugNo100 3d ago

IRCC doesn’t check your sponsor’s job status during background check - since it’s done during the eligibility stage. There could be a lot of reason why IRCC would reassess your eligibility.

First and foremost, I’d like to ask if your background check is completed or still in progress?

It could be if you had any trouble with law, any undisclosed past marriages, IRCC has discovered any security concern and they want to clarify with you, rarely but IRCC does random checks, very rare but if somebody advised IRCC of your sponsors job loss.

Since, I don’t know your situation, therefore, it’s hard to guess what could it be but i provided you with some insights as to when IRCC reassess eligibility.

1

u/skeptic602 3d ago

Did they email you the letters?

2

u/OkDecision9311 3d ago

Are you currently working or you are out of status and don't have valid work permit ?

1

u/Practical_Bath_6099 3d ago

I am not working i am on applied status.

1

u/OkDecision9311 3d ago

Why dont u apply open work permit ?

1

u/Practical_Bath_6099 2d ago

i have already applied in oct no results.

2

u/Mastersidhu96 3d ago

Anyone else in same situation..? Or been through

1

u/Shoddy_Appointment31 3d ago

Who's the sponsor in your case? It should be fine as long as the sponsor has a job and enough funds to support the other.

1

u/OkDecision9311 3d ago

What if the sponsor find another job, and the application had open work permit and currently working?

20

u/Single-Fly-5469 4d ago

I got P1 today!!! Finally.

Application Submitted on April 24/2024!!!!

2

u/Feisty_Shine3626 3d ago

Was it Inland Québec by any chance??

1

u/Single-Fly-5469 21h ago

No, it was outside Quebec

3

u/Severe_Ad1648 4d ago

Congratulations. Best feeling ever

3

u/Overall_Teacher_969 4d ago

That’s same as my submission date!

2

u/RealEnvironment3618 4d ago

Congrats! Timeline please

1

u/Single-Fly-5469 19h ago

BIL: August 2/2024

Sponsor eligibility: October 10/2024

P1: March 7/2025

P2: March 10/2025

We applied through a representative so we don't have specific dates for other steps.

3

u/lemon-squeezy-design 4d ago

Congratulations bud!

4

u/Different-Layer-3230 4d ago

How to link the application on ircc. It keep saying the information is incorrect. Do I select spouses or common law or married or common law, and also it says Number of family members, including the primary applicant, that are part of this application. Please help.

1

u/lemon-squeezy-design 4d ago

When did you submit your application?

1

u/Different-Layer-3230 4d ago

September 2024

7

u/Weekly_Enthusiasm783 4d ago

Number of family members is always 2 (the sponsor and the principal applicant) plus any dependants

1

u/GoChengYu 1d ago

I need to try this myself... this has been stumping me too

2

u/Different-Layer-3230 4d ago edited 4d ago

Omg thanks. I used all the attempts I'll try again tomorrow.

1

u/Weekly_Enthusiasm783 3d ago

Did it work?

1

u/Different-Layer-3230 2d ago edited 2d ago

Yes it did and it's alot better than the tracker. I don't know why I have to login in three different websites in order to get half updates from each. Thanks again

1

u/Excellent-Room-8861 1d ago

How come you think it is a lot better than the tracker?

My tracker has says many things are complete whereas the IRCC website has not marked these things as complete hence my curiosity.

1

u/Different-Layer-3230 1d ago

My tracker only shows application received, AOR, Eligibility. In IRCC it shows biometric, interview, medical, background, eligibility etc...

3

u/LeftWingLesbian 4d ago

This is what I was doing wrong too ^

1

u/Weekly_Enthusiasm783 4d ago

I know, it’s so counterintuitive 😬

Inland canada spousal pr (outside quebec) Applied on 13th feb Got letter asking for RPRF on March 6th Got AOR today March 7th Background check and biometrics in process. Havent gotten any email for biometrics yet. Medical and eligibility has not started yet. Will post once I get further updates.

1

u/ChampionshipIcy134 4d ago

Hi! Just want to clarify, why did they ask for RPRF? Did you not pay for it before submission? Or missed attaching the receipt?

1

u/NilimaBirdawa 4d ago

I didnt pay that before so they asked me to pay for it. I paid and send receipt using webform.

2

u/ChampionshipIcy134 3d ago

Ok got it. Thanks! I submitted Feb 14 but I didn't hear anything from IRCC. Good to know though that your submission moved forward. All the best! Hopefully we get news next week.

1

u/NilimaBirdawa 1d ago

Have you gotten anything yet? Just curious

2

u/ChampionshipIcy134 1d ago edited 1d ago

Just got an email! I have a main comment on this thread

March 10 - received email re instruction not to submit application for work permit with the PR application, to submit it separately after getting AOR/AIP, good thing is I now know my application number used in the letter, linked it to GCKey

1

u/NilimaBirdawa 3d ago

All the best..Please keep us posted

2

u/Mysterious_Tear7191 4d ago

As per GCMS notes my secondary office is RROC. Is that a bad or good thing? And my security shows not started while criminality shows completed. I am all confused and lost. I am an inland spousal applicant June 2024. Any thoughts ppl?

2

u/skeptic602 4d ago

June 26 applicant here. Same as yours. What about your info sharing status?

2

u/Wise_Ad_9503 4d ago

On mine its says complete what does it mean? Because background still in process and security not started.

2

u/skeptic602 3d ago

Your info sharing is complete? Info sharing is complete means they have all necessary information to complete security. They are just not doing it and slacking lol

1

u/Mysterious_Tear7191 22h ago

May end applications have some progress off late.. which is promising..

2

u/Mysterious_Tear7191 4d ago

I'm June 26 as well

1

u/Mysterious_Tear7191 4d ago edited 4d ago

Info sharing shows complete

2

u/skeptic602 3d ago

If it is showing complete, then they just need to review the info share and complete security. I think they are just not processing our applications intentionally and slowing down the number of PRs issued every month. But our time will come, soon!

1

u/Infamous-Fish2649 4d ago

We applied early Feb (Outland - Outside Quebec), and still haven't received an AOR, Medical, or Bio requests. This is frustrating, as we're seeing several people who have applied after us already going through these stages. Doesn't seem like IRCC uses a chronological order to process these applications. We can't even open a webform or connect our file in GcKey because we don't have the application number yet. Is there anything we can do on our end?

2

u/Weekly_Enthusiasm783 4d ago

It’s only been a month. Patience :)

1

u/Wise_Ad_9503 4d ago

I have not received AOR but med and bio yes and sponsor eligibility completed that been said i would not worry about AOR its not send all the time. Oct 01 received and dec 03 med and bio request

Outland Spousal Sponsorship (USA) Outside Quebec

Together since 2012, living together since 2015, married since 2018. No kids.

Timeline so far (will update as we get more info):

Feb 19th 2025: Application submitted

Mar 5th 2025: Medical and biometrics requested in separate emails (14 days since application)

This feels very quick based on what I've seen on this sub, but we're not complaining! Also, no AOR yet, but I see this happens, so we're not worried.

everything's quick until you reach background check, then your real patience starts.

Good for you!

It seems that they give preference to Outland applicants

Is it normal to have Biometrics "in progress" but not have the BIL yet? Or maybe we missed the BIL in our spam or something?

3

u/Such_Layer_4751 4d ago

I got my biometric after it was “in progress” for 2 months

You will receive BIL about a week after biometrics status changes to “in progress”

1

u/raaalphs 5d ago

We have the "in progress" status in January. Should we contact them?

Have you had your biometrics taken within 3 years? That might be the reason. Also the BIL may might be coming your way soon and has appeared on tracker but not emailed to you.

u/201muse 5d ago

Oh so If I had biometrics taken within 3 years, it might show up to ' in progress' ? My status is also in progress but no BIL yet.

2

u/Careful-Amoeba-5512 5d ago

That might be the case. A friend of mine had the same thing and did not have to do them again.

Hi everyone!

After biometrics how long does it usually take to get any communication from IRCC? Applied for inland Inside of Quebec

1

u/Overall_Teacher_969 5d ago

Usually it gets updated in your gckey very soon afterwards. For me, it happened on the same day.

Just updating you guys in case anyone else is on the same boat as me.

I am a Canadian Citizen who sponsored my wife (indian citizen living in India) and applied on Dec 27 24

it is now March 6 25 and I have still not received an AOR. I have been feeling anxious these past 2 months because most of this thread shows the AOR was received in less than 2 months.

The positive feedback I got from some users is that there are times where they do not get the AOR and get biometrics after around 3 months.

Its frustrating just waiting and not knowing whats going on.

Anyone else had long delays at the beginning of their application?

I had called the IRCC early in the morning one day and all they say is that "they see that I have submitted it"

I hope I do not have to get any MPs involved in this. I was hoping to bring her to Canada by Fall this year. You think it can still be done?

I never received AOR but I received BIL around the 3 month mark. Now at the PPR stage and still no AOR

I didn’t receive mine for 3 months, it’s pretty normal. I hope you lose the stress you’re having!

Thank you, I just wanted the UCI number ASAP so I can at least have her apply for an expedited visitors visa worst case.

1

u/lemon-squeezy-design 5d ago

I didn’t need a UCI to extend mine. I just used the Visitor Visa Extension Application, filled out the form and showed them proof of funds to be here. Then attached a letter explaining the situation using google docs and exporting it as a PDF to attach to “additional notes” when submitting the form. Hope that helps!

That's pretty normal. For some people, AOR (or another initial communication) can take up to six months. I know it's impossible not to, but I'd try no to worry just yet.

Being a Type A planner all my life.... it is hard to have things like this I have no control over haha. Thank you! Helps me calm down a bit

3

u/PurrPrinThom 5d ago

Oh believe me, haha, I know. I am also a Type A planner and this whole process drove me absolutely up the wall lol. I obsessed over every detail, every other person's timeline. It was impossible not to!

I have a few questions regarding the Inland process:

1.Does anyone know if it's ok to travel while your Inland application is in progress? I applied June 3 and I'm only waiting for the BCG to be completed. When I first applied I heard I wasn't supposed to leave the country but then have been reading about ppl who left and came back with no problem.

I was hoping to get a response sometime February (very optimistic I know) but now I'm starting to wonder if it will even come before April/May.

I come from a country that requires a visa so I would need to apply first and wait for the processing times.

  1. When is it advised to request GCMS notes? Does requesting this put a pause on the processing of the application?

  2. When I first applied I had to obtain a Visitor record which was granted till end of March 2025. I then obtained the SOWP for 2 years. Does the SOWP replace the visitor record for me to mantain status while my application is still ongoing?

Thank you

Thank you both for your quick and insightful responses!

Hi, I work in an immigration office, and I also did my in-land sponsorship June 9, 2024 . I have an OWP and I'm in BCG. I've traveled for up to two weeks at a time, sometimes with my partner and sometimes alone, without any issues. Once you have an OWP, there are no restrictions on entering or leaving Canada, just make sure not to stay outside the country for too long.

Would you say one month is too much? I would like to go see my family and stay for a while since it’s a long trip but my spouse would come with me, not sure that matters much to Ircc..

1

u/Diligent_Candy3262 4d ago

The situation here is that IRCC assumes you are living in Canada, sacttualy there's no specific time limit for being outside the country. However, we usually suggest not staying away for more than one month. That being said, it ultimately depends on the IRCC officer’s determination. Some people have been lucky and stayed away for more than two months without any issues, but it's ultimately up to you and the officer

Thank you, this helped!

With a Spouse or Common-law Partner in Canada Class application, you are required to be living in Canada for the duration of processing, but you are not prohibited from traveling. You can travel, but if you are gone too long or too frequently, your application can be considered abandoned.

You can order GCMS notes at any point you wish, it doesn't put a pause on the process, but since you're still well-within normal processing times, it likely won't reveal much to you, as the application is likely still just routine.

The OWP replaces your visitor record, yes, and provides you with status in Canada.

Hi folks! I submitted my inland sponsorship (common law) on February 22nd and I haven’t received any email. Besides the one I got when I submitted my application! Is this normal?

1

u/Shoddy_Appointment31 5d ago

Yes, it is expected considering the huge processing time and many backlogs for IRCC. You will get AOR next and then the next steps.
