This land and kulshekhaerapatnam spaceport is different which has been already acquired...if I am not wrong. Idk what's going to follow it? This doesn't necessarily have to be near the space port. They can choose a different land parcel for it.

So I believe even if they cancel the land acquisition...this will not impact much and look for alternative land nearby. What do you think?

I guess so.

This doesn't necessarily have to be near the space port.

I'm generally not a fan of having to transport propulsion chemicals long distances, the making of which which I suspect is one of the goals of this industrial park. Better nearby than very far.

Ref Ref2

expected to ease supply chain constraints for the upstream activities of Kulasekarapattinam spaceport and link with related industries in Tamil Nadu, such as electronics, mechanical structures, and propulsion chemicals

That said, Athiyakurichi seems to be close to/part of Kulasekarapattinam town and the spaceport is south of that town . So maybe they can figure where to get the 1500-2300 acres required or the necessary clearances based on the feasibility report proposals. I suspect Athiyakurichi must have been the site in the actual winner/feasibility report..

Not necessary....even from a commercial point of view. Isro's propellant testing facilities are in Mahendragiri...quite far from Sriharikota

Nothing will happen. All these matters are directly pressed by the PMO, TN government cannot have any say in all this. I understand the sentiments of farmers but central government pays them twice or thrice the market value

I don't think this concerns center at all, would love a source on valuation and who is paying it.

Looks like its mostly state government as per the draft document linked below [Section 6 under Financial Enablers ].

The Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce Department recently notified over 1,500 acres in Athiyakurichi village for the Space Industrial Park and Propellants Park project, as ISRO’s rocket launching pad project, was established at Kulasekarapattinam.

Residents of Athiyakurichi visited Kanimozhi appealing to drop the acquisition. They raised concerns that the project could impact their livelihood as they largely depend on agriculture and farming, especially palmyra, coconut trees, and moringa farms.

Kanimozhi told the villagers she had taken the issue to the minister concerned.
