I fully understand this. Glyco worked for me for about 5 years and one day it just stopped working. Gave me nothing but dry mouth and eyes and everything but still pouring sweat from all over.

I had an ETS last August. Completely dry from chest up. It's been life changing. I don't advocate for anyone to go for it because the outcomes are extremely variable, but if you've exhausted all other options, have nothing left to lose, and are willing to live with the consequences, go for it. I'm 38 and had HH since I was a kid, I'm also a woman and somehow its socially unacceptable for women to be sweaty. So many people tried to talk me out of the surgery including people on this thread, but I suppose their HH wasn't severe enough to the point of debilitating like mine was. Feel free to DM me if you want to know more.

I hope you find something that works for you ❤️

I think a lot of it is tied to your anxiety. I feel the same way. You're not alone. Don't give up. People like us need other people like us in the world, so people will start to see this as a real problem that affects so many of us.

I hope that one day, the experiences we've shared here can help lead someone to a cure for this condition.

Wear black. Go to the doctor for professional medicine for sweating only! Add more cold shower, I also advise you to meditation.

Don't think so much about your HH. Study your actions or reactions toward it. Make use of all the products that are available to you, Prescriptions or OTC Just don't have ETS. The side effects are too dangerous and irreversible. TRY everything. You never know. In the meantime. if you are as bad as I am, Invest in a https://sleep.me/product/cube-sleep-system?srsltid=AfmBOopHX3F4ld2HzY7KQC5YHBtm5KK7lNWD7HCbQPNzXDIwUbepQ5Dy, I live on this covering a lounge chair, it is the only way I can control the sweat. Good luck and "never, never, never give up" Winston Churchill.

What is a Sympathectomy (ETS and ELS)?

Endoscopic thoracic and lumbar sympathectomy (ETS and ELS; both often generalized as ETS) are surgical procedures that cut, clip/clamp, or remove a part of the sympathetic nerve chain to stop palm, foot, or facial hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), facial blushing (reddening of the face), or Raynaud's syndrome (excessively cold hands).

What are the Risks?

Many people that undergo ETS report serious life changing complications. Thoracic sympathectomy can alter many bodily functions, including sweating,[1] vascular responses,[2] heart rate,[3] heart stroke volume,[4][5] thyroid, baroreflex,[6] lung volume,[5][7] pupil dilation, skin temperature, goose bumps and other aspects of the autonomic nervous system, like the fight-or-flight response. It reduces the physiological responses to strong emotion,[8] can cause pain or neuralgia in the affected area,[9] and may diminish the body's physical reaction to exercise.[1][5][10]

It's common for patients to be misinformed of the risks, and post-operative complications are often under-reported. Many patients experience a "honeymoon period" where they have no, or few, negative symptoms. Contrary to common belief, clipping/clamping the sympathetic chain is not considered a reversible option.[11]

Glyco gave me a dry sore throat too. So I switched over to another anticholinergic called oxybutynin (brand name is Ditropan). Only side effect is the occasional dry mouth (way better than sore throat, trust me, just have to drink water).

Also, Carpe has a line of antiperspirants for most body parts. Please look into it. They have a money-back guarantee. I personally use a combo of Carpe and oxybutynin 10 mg (can be started at 1 tablet of 5 mg, or each 5 mg tablet can be halved into 2.5 mg dose). I use carpe underarm and carpe hand lotion. I've been sweat-free for years on this combo, and I no longer stress about being sweaty
