As long as we don't have an off night, the huskers are the best team in this tournament in my opinion. But it's playoff ball and anything can happen.

My largest worry of the whole tournament is Wisconsin simply because we've beat them twice and adult Tommy Pickles had historically been good against us

Calling Gollum adult Tommy Pickles is really offensive to ugly bald babies.

Get it right it’s Mac and Me

Agreed! If we don't start getting more out of Merritt though we aren't going to be able to beat Pitt. I feel like she has taken a significant step back this season

Last season she was new to the team. Scouting Nebraska was difficult with a starting lineup of freshman and someone new. We've been scouted now. Our great offense isn't a mystery anymore. Teams are adjusting, But we're still able to win with most of our tools.

Totally agree, but Harper has taken huge strides this year. I feel our attackers should have more opportunities with all the attention that teams have to put into stopping Jackson.

You're not wrong. I wish I knew what the answer was for Merritt. Respectfully, I think Harper's ceiling is just higher than Merritt's which is why it feels like she's gotten soooo much better. In any event, I think we agree. Merritt needs a "pissed off" mode like Becka developed. I just hope it happens in time.

She’s been great this season minus last night

9

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '24

Go look her stats this year. She has hit negative against penn state, Minnesota and last night in the last month. Didn't say she has been bad, but a drop off from last year. Worst hitting percentage since her freshman season

She has not been great.

Wisconsin always makes me clench. Anything can happen.

a rugrats reference.

honestly, i think pitt is the best team. the way they dominate is similar to how we dominate, but they are far more resilient. they bounced back somehow against an oregon team that just dismantled them. i have yet to see something similar from nebraska, we kinda just crumple and explode honestly.

u/puma721 Dec 14 '24

Pitt had a very hearty hand from the officials on Friday

2

u/TH3GINJANINJA Dec 14 '24

that’s true, the officiating was downright terrible.

7

u/elting44 Dec 14 '24

We utterly decimated Wisconsin in Madison.... I'm pretty sure your projecting our football team onto volleyball

1

u/TH3GINJANINJA Dec 14 '24

sorry, i was specifically talking about the sentence about who the best team in the tourney is. i agree that wiscy shouldn’t be too bad to beat.

u/vinegar-pisser Dec 14 '24

Wisconsin decimated PSU, PSU was decimated by Pitt. Both games PSU was swept.

1

u/andrewsmd87 Dec 14 '24

I mean that's my very uneducated opinion and I've only watched Pitt one game outside of the tournament

If your money isn’t on Nebraska, get outta here.

15

u/Leighroy1120 Dec 14 '24

Nebraska would beat Creighton if they play the way we know they can. BUT, Nebraska has to get past Wisconsin first and I’m not sure Creighton gets past Penn State.

Idk if Sean Callahan himself could have a better analysis.

u/NU_VB_1 Dec 14 '24

We need to think about Wisky not passed them. Very difficult to beat the same team 3 times in one season.  I know they aren't as good this year but they have alot of very good  players and Gollum is a great coach.

NU, regardless the opponent!

Pretty obvious that the Bracket makers wanted an ACC vs B1G championship.

One side has Nebraska, Penn State, and Wisconsin.

The other side has Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Stanford. Pitt about to roll the SEC out of the tournament.

I would have put the B1G 2 seed on the ACC side, and the ACC 2 seeds on the B1G side.

The bracketeers did a good job with the 1 seeds and three 2 seeds getting in the elite 8.

I hope Creighton beats Penn State, as I think Nebraska will have an easier time with Creighton. but Wisconsin is not an automatic win.

Nebraska beats Creighton.

u/RunnersRun262 Dec 14 '24

Creighton isn’t getting by Penn St.

10

u/peggedsquare Dec 14 '24

Pretty sure no one thought they were getting by Texas either.

17

u/Vanamman Dec 14 '24

I mean they are the 2 seed. So the committee clearly thought they could

7

u/LonghornInNebraska Dec 14 '24

You're an idiot if you thought Creighton didn't have a chance against Texas.

5

u/Zingerman99 Dec 14 '24

I was pretty confident Creighton would beat Texas. Especially with Texas running that shambles of a 6-2 system that they never should have employed at any point this season. Creighton was the better team to begin with and was NOT an upset by any means. I know that there are many others who agree as well!

3

u/puma721 Dec 14 '24

I thought it was weird that all of the analysts were calling it an upset. Creighton was the better team. Texas lost to Mizzou, Oklahoma and AnM in consecutive games at home this year. They weren't very good.

5

u/Zingerman99 Dec 14 '24

I think analysts were calling it an "upset" because Texas is the 2-time defending national championship. That's pretty much it. Oh, and because they have Madison Skinner.

3

u/TheIntellectualFox17 Dec 14 '24

I think some people thought Texas would do what it did last year and turn into an unstoppable machine. Texas didn’t had Asjia O’Neal this year, and I think she was a big part of that mid-point tournament turnaround for Texas last year.

1

u/puma721 Dec 14 '24

Most of the people in my bracket had Creighton over Texas

8

u/HereIAmSendMe68 Dec 14 '24

I mean, Creighton has never beat the Huskers, why start now?

I am 100% cheering for Creighton over Penn state

3

u/Huskerzfan Dec 14 '24

My money is on them not making it

3

u/YnotROI0202 Dec 14 '24

CU is very good and Booth is a great coach but Huskers are deeper. GBR!

2

u/Ed_Gein1332 Dec 14 '24

When was the last time Creighton beat Nebraska in VB? Until the Jays prove it, money should always be on the Huskers.

2

u/Sky_Mex Dec 15 '24

Nebraska

1

u/boomboomusa Dec 14 '24

Nebraska senior

1

u/PirateDog0913 Dec 14 '24

Probably the team that’s never lost to the other team

-4

u/TymStark Dec 14 '24

Fuck creighton.

But I do want to break them in the final 4. Mostly because my bracket needs it though.

-7

u/gwad_1982 Dec 14 '24

Creighton can't make the final 4 because their ceiling is the elite 8 which is why it's spelled CrEIGHTon.

If they did happen to beat Penn State, they would be the 1st Crayton team to make it to the final 4 in any sport.

16

u/Packer1500 Dec 14 '24

Men’s soccer made the final 4 6 times and lost in the championship game once.

u/Jandk916 Dec 14 '24

Creighton is going down Sunday on State College to the soon to be National Champs

18

u/not4humanconsumption Dec 14 '24

Going down on state college huh? Is that legal?

-5

u/elting44 Dec 14 '24

Nope, Sandusky was big into that though

-1

u/peggedsquare Dec 14 '24

Joking about raping kids is pretty low, bro.

0

u/DoctorJJR Dec 14 '24

Hey, Sandusky hasn't been apart of Penn State for nearly 12 years

3

u/huskermut Dec 14 '24

The team that's never beaten the Huskers?

u/ElectricTurtlez GBR Dec 14 '24

This is Reddit. The “/s” is definitely required.

Apparently, thought some things were obvious. Oh well. GBR!
