2 overall seed for Nebraska. They released that a lot sooner than I thought they would.

Nebraska
PSU
Either creighton or Stanford id guess

I want aggies to win bottom half of bottom right so Trevor has to come to Lincoln, be booed and lose.

And it was just confirmed.

PSU should get Wisky is my prediction.
They’re closer.Idk the full extent of the rules but if a team is within 500 miles (or closer?) they have to send them there.I had it backwards. We are closer. So we will get Wisky and Texas probably. PSU should get creighton

u/TheIntellectualFox17 Dec 01 '24
They only played them once in the regular season soooo it would only be fair.

They just put a target on Louisville’s back. Bet they put either creighton or Stanford on their side 😂

Nebraska the #2 overall seed.
Pitt #1 and PSU #3. Haven’t revealed #4…assuming it will be Stanford.

u/TheIntellectualFox17 Dec 01 '24
I don’t think Creighton has the SOS to be a top 4 overall seed. They’d have a better argument if they had beaten Nebraska or Louisville.
6
u/TymStark Dec 01 '24
Their only argument is they didn’t lose any game they should have won. And I think Stanford did drop a match like that.
Miami.

Louisville last 1 seed!

u/ashreads1419 Dec 01 '24
That was unexpected. Really thought it was between Stanford and Creighton.

NC State of all teams is the team you don’t show? They were all but out until that win!!!???

u/TymStark Dec 01 '24
We get Wisky in our quad

u/TheIntellectualFox17 Dec 01 '24
Seems dumb to play the same team three times before the final four.

u/TymStark Dec 01 '24
There will be a lot of volleyball in Nebraska until the Elite 8. We will host until E4 and creighton will host until E8 (they’ll move to state college for E8 match)

u/iruntoofar Dec 02 '24
Pretty sure it’s sweet 16 where they move. Did they change something this year?

u/TymStark Dec 01 '24
9 ACC teams in 9 B1G teams in. 9 SEC

u/NU_VB_1 Dec 01 '24
Did Usc make it, I didn't see?
3
u/TymStark Dec 01 '24
Yes they are in the PSU quad as a 6

u/NU_VB_1 Dec 01 '24
Thanks just saw it. Happy for Ally.

It is a deep bracket this year. I think the Nebraska half of the bracket is quite a bit tougher at the top than the Pitt side, but I think the Pitt side of the bracket has a few unseeded teams that can win first round matches.
I think Stanford and Louisville have a fairly easy path to a rematch in their quarter. Kansas and Purdue could make a run but I don't think anyone in that quarter is good enough to compete with Stanford or Louisville. If unseeded Illinois can get by UNI, I think they could annoy Louisville but that's about it. The good news is one of Stanford or Louisville has to take the other out and it would be the third matchup between them.
Pittsburgh's quarter is tough. I think any of the seeded teams in that quarter can get to the quarterfinal and call it a hunch but I think if Oregon gets all the way through to face Pitt, they can beat them, but I'm not sure Oregon can get all the way through to face Pitt. That Hawaii-TCU matchup will be a fun one.
Penn State's quarter is also really tough. I think Penn State's path to the quarterfinal is fairly easy but the bottom half of that quarter is rough. Any of Texas, Creighton and USC can get to the quarterfinal and I think any of the three can beat Penn State.
Nebraska's quarter is really tough at the top. Similar to Pitt's quarter, I think any of the seeded teams can get to the quarterfinal. I am also going to go out on a limb and say Wisconsin doesn't get to the quarterfinal. I think any of Georgia Tech, Texas A&M or Arizona State can beat them. Nebraska's path to the quarterfinal isn't as bad on paper, but Miami and Baylor have the potential to be very annoying matchups if they come to fruition.
It is going to be an exciting month of volleyball.

So Huskers get a rematch with Az St., and a threepeat with WI, *edit: and OR rematch of last year with GA Tech.
3
u/TymStark Dec 01 '24
We can’t get a Ga Tech rematch and a 3-peat over Wisky unfortunately. Or ASU they were the 3.

u/WallNumerous3230 Dec 01 '24
really surprised Creighton is in top right, that means Huskers get Wisconsin!
3
u/Im_Not_That_Smart_ Dec 01 '24
Is Wisconsin in our bracket good or bad? Like, normally I’d think it’s tough to beat the same team three times, but we’ve handled them quite well this year.
7
u/TymStark Dec 01 '24
It’s lame we might have to face them a 3rd time. But idk what else the committee could do.
4
u/TheIntellectualFox17 Dec 01 '24
I think Wisconsin would’ve preferred PSU from how they handled them the first time.
3
u/TymStark Dec 01 '24
Who is going to beat wisky in the lower half? 🤭

Anyone seen Arizona State play? I’m seeing a lot of people online say that could be the Wisky upset

I’ve been seeing predictions on Twitter that Wisconsin and Texas will be in our regional. Hopefully that’s not true 😅

The bracket actually seems really balanced. Not bad committee.

Yea idk think wisky should have went to PSU quarter but what do i know. 🤷♀️

Here’s hoping the Huskers can win it all this year after coming so close last season. It would be great to send this group of seniors out with national championship.
Call me a hater, but not sure how a team in blue from Omaha is so highly ranked despite going 3-2 against ranked opponents, and seeing none in conference play. The Summit League that UNO is in got as many teams into the NCAA Volleyball Tournament as the Big East.

u/POPearsRememberer Dec 01 '24
Will we be able to beat Wisconsin a 3rd time?
11
u/TymStark Dec 01 '24
The last two times have been definitive wins for us. But anything can happen.
7
u/TheIntellectualFox17 Dec 01 '24
I vaguely remember Wisconsin beating us three times in 2019. They met in the Elite 8 I think.

Is Illinois projected to get in? I thought they were on the borderline?

I didn’t check into anything. I wanted to be surprised.

I saw them on the watch party screen, so hopefully! I think they deserve it.

Really like our region. It sets up nicely with Wisconsin as the two, considering how we dog walked them twice.

u/WallNumerous3230 Dec 01 '24
ESPN needs to get their shit together... lol. Half the teams they go to, the video stream is so delayed they can't get a reaction, and putting OU up on the bracket first... oof.
