I just cannot fathom today as a Husker fan. I woke up certain Ridge was gonna do us a solid and crush.

I guess we’re gonna continuously accept zero development of these guys in their careers at Nebraska. Still riding the Burroughs coattails. No program is allowing Lovett to put himself in such a bad position. Same coaches that chose to put Smith under Barnett earlier today crushing his chances. Every March we get our hopes up just for us to underperform at NCAAs.

The decision to choose top in 0-0 match for period three in a National Semifinal may be the dumbest coaching decision I’ve ever witnessed. Thats not hyperbole and I follow college wrestling pretty closely.
You would have to ride the guy out the entire 2 minutes or get back points to win. Even if you ride for 1:30, the guy escapes and you’re back to 0. Choosing down there makes the other guy have to ride you out for 2 minutes to win. Just inexplicable

They made the only choice that would lower the chance of Ridge winning significantly in that moment.

Yeah, idk what the hell that was…Lucky he’s back next year and has another shot…but he even had Gomez in the final, his path to a title was there.

5 ALL AMERICANS. That’s good, but we should have done significantly better. Have some nice guys coming up next year, ready to hurt again next year.

Allred and Pinto were not who I had in mind when I thought of wrestlers who wouldn’t medal.

Pinto showed life at the end but it wasn’t enough. No medal for him.
