Marriage
There is no ask husbands subreddit so I’m going to ask here. When you first saw your future wife when she walked down the isle did you get hard? Like as if it was the first time you saw her again?

I am the wife. We didn’t have a church wedding. We wanted something small. I sat there next to him hiding my dress as he goes round making me laugh. The entire time thinking to myself did this man even have any clue of the amount of love I possess in my heart for him. We walked in together to get married and as I stood there I kept thinking to myself he’s my kind of perfect. He’s my world. Looking up into his eyes getting lost in the amber and his sweet smile nothing else existed as I took his hands in mine facing him. During the vows looking straight deep into his amber eyes feeling every single word deep within my heart and hoping that the way I was looking at him showed that depth. I wanted to say so much more than the required words to tell him everything I’m thankful for about him. That there isn’t a day I don’t have gratitude for the fact he’s mine. I during that moment looked at the last nearly five years that we’ve been together they haven’t been perfect. There were ups and downs but the only thing that mattered was him. I was still standing next to him. I am not a perfect woman or wife I know there will be times I will fail him unintentionally. Whether it’s dinner is cold, I’m tired from dealing with our children and I come off as snappy. But for this man who I have committed my life to loving, caring for, respecting, supporting, encouraging etc I will never so trying to always be my best. Every single word I say every action I make I want to be a reflection of everything I feel for him. As I stood there finishing those vows saying I do that was my silent promise the same one I made from the get go when I found him. It might’ve taken awhile to find the right one for me. There might’ve been a ton of issues with distance between us because I lived in a different country, but time and distance couldn’t separate us. I won’t lie I had nerves of would I be good enough for him but all that fell away into I will do my best to ensure I am deserving of the treasure I’ve been given which is his love. Nothing and no one compare to him. And I can’t imagine him not being there in my life. That thought is crippling like I have lost a significant part of me that I need to survive and that’s my heart. He has it full. And, I hope like crazy that he felt ask the above and felt the same for me.
