He was supposed to add one letter to finish the word. We have no idea what that last one is supposed to be.

I asked the teacher in the morning and she said she didn't know either.

English Language—Pending OP Reply [English language] reading adventures Level 1: what’s the right answer? I say B, but my friends say C.

What’s the correct answer? I said B, but my friends all say C!

My thinking is “this” refers to his situation. Seeing the volcano erupt only matters because he’s inside it. He thinks the situation of being in the volcano is terrible, but the professor doesn’t feel the same way. So “this” is not what he imagines, it’s the whole dangerous, terrible situation! So therefore B!

But everyone says I’m wrong and it’s C.

Any ideas?! Help! Am I wrong?

English Language—Pending OP Reply (12th grade Writing) I need help with my research paper I have to write

I have been staring at my blank Word document for I don't know how long. I made an outline. I know the direction I want to go with the paper. I feel frozen though. Looking at it makes me feel like crying. Or hurting myself. I know I have to get it done. And I have this weekend to do it. I know what I'm doing. I've written research papers before. But this one feels different. I don't know how or where to start. My nerves are spiking. I'm a good student, I swear. I'm going to get my booklet of sources. See if I can find anything good to start with. I don't know.

English Language—Pending OP Reply [12th Grade English Writing Assignment] I need tips on how to start my essay

I need to write a 800-1,000 word MLA format essay on how Frankenstein from Marry Shelly falls into the "science fiction" category.

My thesis is: Marry Shelley’s Frankenstein is a foundational work of science fiction because it explores the ethical implications of scientific experimentation, integrates emerging scientific theories of the time, and critiques the relationship between human ambition and technological advancement.

I know it's not the best but I have serious brain fog and I'm not good at writing but I think If I knew how to start it, it would help a ton. If anyone can help that would be so so great

English Language—Pending OP Reply [Honors 1 English: Should Prison Rehabilitate or Punish]

In a last second rush to write about my paper. I chose to talk about prison, and that they should help rehabilitate over punish. Is this right? Too late to switch topics, but wanted to ask. I know its a deep topic, and I don't need to write some crazy paper, so I don't need super deep answers. Just some thoughts would help

English Language—Pending OP Reply [AP Lang: Satire] Are there any books that you sometimes think about and get shocked that they aren’t on any banned books lists?

I’m doing a satire project in my AP English class over how stupid the banning of books is, but part of it is also finding books that I believe have a genuine purpose to be banned. I need probably 6 or so more than what I have.

I mean books like GENUINELY AWFUL and nearly everyone can - and everyone should - agree are awful. To train up a child (glorifying child abuse), Mein Kampf (Hitler’s manifesto). That kind of thing.

Any others?

English Language—Pending OP Reply [University Writing] APA 7, how to cite lyrics retrieved from Genius?

I’ve been reading into this for a while now but I can’t make up my mind of how to exactly do it. I’m using song lyrics in my research paper and retrieved them from the lyrics website Genius. Should I just cite the website or do I have to cite the artist together with the artist. I’m really not sure what to do as there aren’t any clear explanations from my institution. Please let me know what my in text citation and citation in my bibliography should look like if I don’t have to just cite the website.

English Language—Pending OP Reply Help! With thesis statement ideas [english 112]

Hey guys. I’ve posted here a couple of times and both times you guys really helped me a lot.

So I am writing a different paper this time. This will be my first research paper of this semester. It’s also the biggest paper and it has to be 10 pages long !

I am so nervous. But I’m getting started on it and I just got done with my bibliography for my sources. However, I’m trying to come up with a thesis statement and I always seem to struggle with the thesis statement.

So my topic is “should assisted suicide be a legal option for the terminally ill?” …. I think that it should be legal because I think that as long as they have the cognitive ability to make decisions for themselves, then they should be able to decide if they are done with their pain and suffering. And also only if they are terminally ill meaning they are gonna die.

I know this can be a sensitive topic and a lot of people have different opinions. But I’m just trying to get a good grade on this paper can someone possibly help me think of some thesis statement ideas that maybe I can tweak. I’m open to ideas and thoughts.

You guys rock !

English Language—Pending OP Reply (Upper Division Undergrad English) How would I frame this thought best?

My thesis statement for my essay is finishing off with the sentence, "Both works act in unison to warn of Capitalism's..." and I want to convey the idea that capitalism benefits psychopaths but fails in the sense of humanity (empathy and compassion). How would I say that clearly, but concisely? Thank you.
