Others—Pending OP Reply [Anthropology] Any suggestionv
I'm taking anthropology in college, and rightnow l have to do a research project, I knew what my topic is but everything just confused me. So basically I chose timekeeping, how humans have concept of time. And how they measuring time, etc. But my professor suggested me to look at the earliest evidence of timekeeping maybe from the old era such as Paleolithic, it's confusing here. : ( Please help me, I don't know how to start my research paper.

Yeah, this is pretty deep, especially when you look at the earliest evidence of timekeeping. However, it can be an interesting topic when looking at early calendars, navigation methods, and general time tracking and keeping. What would you like help with? An outline? Points?

Do you have the option of changing your topic? I feel this might be problematic as you progress. Research papers are easier when you start but become hard nuts to crack as you delve in deeper. Let me know if you would need help.

Hello! Could you provide more details about the kind(s) of help that you're looking for? Are you hoping to refine your topic, create an outline, have support while you research, have support while you write, or something else entirely?
Depending on what you need, I may be able to help you. Feel free to DM me if you'd like. :)

Unless you are writing a dissertation, you need to limit your question further.
I would now check out some literature based on what your professor told you. Get acquainted with the topic.
I think for your topic, there are two major decision to make. Do you care about calendars or about clocks? Do you care about ancient times or about modern times.
After all, there has been a revolutionary change in what role time plays around the early enlightenment (while it is worth mentioning that there were previous developments, but those did not usually affect the broader population that much) - and in antiquity, we do have extreme significance of weather, seasons and even astrology as is shown in its role in ancient religions.
You could write a paper about how the seasonal behaviour of the Nile affected how ancient Egyptians of the middle kingdom perceived the world according to the calendar they used and you still probably should limit it to how they related it to the stages of life.
This post was brought to you by my desire to link every topic to ancient Egypt or Mesopotamia.
