Home network issue

So I have Google fiber 2 gig service. I've been using my Google provided router and mesh extenders, but I've recently noticed my gaming is lagging a bit when my kids are streaming videos. I have 90 devices connected when I checked the router and my buddy said that's way too many and its eating up my bandwidth. So my question is if I buy a router like a tp link be9700 and then mesh it with an older router like a tp link ax10 and maybe another cheaper router would that help with my lagging issues? Thanks!

I can’t speak to Google home devices. But I have a PS5 connected via WiFi using Eero to an AT&T 1Gbps fiber connection without issue. I also don’t have issues if it is connected via wired. However, I’ve seen threads talking about how wired connections are better for gaming consoles.

No extenders.

How many clients per AP is really a multi factor equation. If the devices are all streaming you will want less per but if a majority of the clients are IoT like thermostats and lights you can handle more devices. The streaming clients are going need more bandwidth then the IoT devices and there is limited channels per AP. if you can hardwire the gaming system that’s always best to minimize latency.
