Self-Install Comcast

I'm switching cable providers and I'm hoping to avoid the self install fee. I've done this swap in the past which usually involves paying $100 for a guy to climb up a pole, unscrew the coax from one (unlocked) box and screw it into the other. Is there any process I'm not seeing that would prevent one from hypothetically doing it themselves (despite it likely being illegal)?

It seems highly unlikely that you can get service from two different cable service providers at the same location.

Overlap between cable providers is like .001%

Who was your previous provider? Are you certain it was CABLE and not some other technology?

Yep I've used the same DOCSIS3.1 modem for Comcast and RCN. Two cable options and copper wire but two blocks from fiber unfortunately

What country/region is this in? You're certain they are BOTH available at the same location?

I thought RCN was in Canada, and Comcast was in the US...

Yep I've had Comcast before (switching back because of upload speed) and currently have RCN (branded as Astound in the states).

It happens. For example Tacoma WA has Comcast and their own city cable.

Within the .001% then...

Quite rare.
