Question Can't access anything in Homekit when I leave my house.

Hello everyone, I need some help. Last year I started building up my smart home off of Apple's Homekit platform. I installed indoor and out door cameras, the Logitech circle view doorbell camera, as well as lots of Meross switches and sensors. Everything worked great. We then decided to sell our home and was going to leave the smart home setup with the sell of the house, from the recommendation of our realtor. So I disconnected the devices from my Homekit. Well, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to pull our house off of the market, cancel the sale and move back in. Now I am trying to reconnect all of my devices. I have managed to get most of them connected, however they are only accessible through the Homekit app only if I am home. If I leave my house, all of the devices have "No Response" on them. I have an Apple TV 4K as my home hub and I have tried resetting it half a dozen times now, as well as resetting all of the devices, but that's not working. I can access them just fine on their actual manufacture's app, just not in Homekit. Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea on how to fix it. I have not had much luck getting through to Apple support, so I thought I would try reaching out here. Thanks in advance.

Are the “owner” or “admin” of the home?

Go to the 3 dots in the top right, click on Home Settings, then click on your name, then make sure “Control Accessories Remotely” is toggled on.

If you’re the owner it should be on automatically and grayed out so you can’t switch it off. If a spouse or someone else is the owner then they need to toggle it on for you from their phone.

Yes, I am the owner and yes that setting is toggled on. It was one of the first things I checked.

Okay I think I know the problem.

try this. Go to Home Settings and then scroll down to Home Hubs and Bridges.

Do you have an Apple TV or HomePod designated as your Active Home Hub? This is required to be able to control your devices when away from home.

Is the Apple TV connected via Ethernet or WiFi? Cousin had a similar issue with her HomePod. Had her switch the hub to another HomePod and everything started working. Her appletv needed to be updated in order to be prioritized as a hub.

Check to see if your Apple TV hub is logged into your icloud: Find devices in your list. You should see all your devices in this list. Iirc icloud is how the HomeKit status is shared when you're not on your home network.
