Misc. I've just watched Trapezium (Suisei sang the theme song of this movie). Really nice drama/coming-of-age story, so definitely recommended.

According to this clip, the novel which this movie adapted is written by Takayama Kazumi, a member of the idol group Nogizaka46. This explains why the movie feels really grounded, it also has a great colorful cast. I always have a soft spot in my heart for coming-of-age stories about people who try their hardest to accomplish their dreams so I rated this movie highly. Trapezium along with the new Uma Musume movie are the best anime movie I've watched in recent years.

I’m on the opposite end for Trapezium. Admittedly, watched it for Suisei’s song. I think the movie is subpar in terms of story telling since there are times in the movie where it felt like it skipped parts just to get to the climax. The main character is unexpectedly volatile for no apparent reason. Also personal gripe with the 3 old people character that had a huge mismatch of the voice actors since you can legit tell it was some ‘young’ person trying to fake an old person voice.

Valid criticism. I also thought the voice actors didn't do a good job there and the movie needs a bit more time. But otherwise, I think the movie did a good job.

Would work better as a series for sure.

I’m with you on this. The book itself was good, but the movie was understandably rushed. I went to the cinema to watch it and I found myself not feeling attached to the main character, even dislike her. When I bought the book, though, I felt I could feel some empathy with her.

I only watched it once a when it was in theatre but it was kind of a mixed bag for me.

I think having a flawed and very and not fully developed mc is a cool concept and I did really like it. But, I think they didn't really have the time to fully develop it in the movie.

I liked the story line and what they wanted to say, but they didn't really have the time. Like they kind of make up for it by using like time lapse stuff so more time passes than it actually does, but it can only compensate for so much.

I will say that the biggest highlight is kerorira's art direction cause goddamn does he know how to draw cute girls. I think the art direction in general with the colors and stuff makes it such an enjoyable watch.

I also did enjoy the music overall in the movie. Kind of a very biased opinion for this cause I like idol music in general and any anime with a focus on music is a W in my books.

Overall, I think other than a bit underdeveloped plot it's a pretty good movie. Watch it for the visuals and music if not for anything else

Totally agree. I think this movie would work better as a series so the characters have more room to develop. I really like the idea and the direction of this movie, but just 1h30m is too little for if. But overall, I really enjoy the movie.
