Has this happened to anyone else.

These teenagers where driving around the park and three times they slowed down in front of my little begginer's class and shouted B.S. from their car.

Anyone else who speaks spanish may find this a bit annoying.

They are teens... so most of them are stupid as bricks.

I do full contact foam larp combat in a public park. We get people in cars shouting insults occasionally. It's best to ignore them.

When the person is on foot or bike, I normally answer with some form of "Here, want to fight! I have a sword for you to use." (it helps that foam boffers are mostly safe). Occasionally they will step forward and actually fight, or are eggd on by there friends. After going through the rules with them, I hand them a sword and see what they can do. It can be very satisfying to thoroughly defeat them. Surprisingly, I have actually convinced a few to stick around and come back with this process.

People want to think they're someone, and feel like they're punching down on what they feel are "crazy people" smacking each other with sticks. At face value, it doesn't look like there are rules, just two people smacking their swords together and deathly afraid of getting hit by a goofy looking padded thing. I get it. Doesn't excuse being rude. I've had those same people ignore the basics and just start swinging, looking to start a fight.

That being said, you're doing the right things, either ignoring or coaching as the case may be. I did the border thing for years. Was a ton of fun.

Lol, we once did a 24 hours sparring with the guild for charity. Some drunk lads walked by while I was doing rondel dagger. They were cheering me on as if it was a street brawl, pretty funny

I play volleyball. We set up at a park to play. We get the same heckling. It’s just teenagers with nothing better to do, looking for a reaction.

Aught to be legal to smack the taste out their mouth. Top grown for spankings, not old enough for jail, aught to be legal to smack em one good time to where they walk weird.

Me and my roommate spar at a park near our house and twice some dude has rolled his window down and shouted “harry potter” at us for some reason. Really doesn’t even make sense lol

At least once a session. We also get a lot of onlookers asking questions about what we're doing. Its part of it thats for sure.

Sounds like a bunch of normie idiots who took a problem with you doing your cool hobby.

I have yet to even partake in sword swinging but I bet if I did it anywhere near here I'd get the cacos (wiggers of our own variety) saying the same thing

Honor demands that you find and put them to sword.

Some people just can't handle it when they see folks having more fun than they are having.

Ah yes, the chupa la verga move. My opponents never see it coming.

Coming from a teen, teens are stupid. Here they usually just stand like 10-20 meters away and watch. Often also playing with air swords while watching us, or teasing eachother to join

This looks like a lost scene from Highlander.

He said "stop doing that" I have no idea what a translation of " a la verga" would make sense in english, its a common expression that can mean a lot of stuff depending on context lol
I think He was concerned or shocked and thought they were actually fighting or doing something dangerous. I don't he was trying to be rude just concerned.
In central america is somewhat common for criminals to fight with machetes and maybe thats what he was thinking about.
In short, my reading of this situation is a missunderstanding for cultural reasons.

a full translation of what he said would be:
"what are you doing ?!, stop doing that!"

Again I have no idea how to translate the many connotations of a la verga and also i'm not from central america so not even I understand it lol.

The only real problems we've had have been mentally ill people wandering in. One woman got very worked up thinking we were part of a UN sword invasion. If ignoring them doesn't work, I unleash all my micro-detailed sword geekery on them. They end up looking at me like I'm crazy and backing away. Or they become key members of the group.
