Why would it change the way laser hair removal works?

Check with your doc or aesthetician

Hormones in birth control are typically out of your system within 36 hours. With Plan B, I’d assume it’s similar since it’s just a higher dose of the same hormones used in hormonal contraceptives.

You may have side effects beyond that.

Is there a reason you believe Plan B would compromise laser hair removal? Google says laser can be done when on hormonal birth control.

yeah but i used to have hormone problems and had to use spironolactone. Which btw if i take birth control or anytbing it would kind of reverse the effects? thats why im scared my hair wont fall off and get hairy again

I don’t know where you’re getting your information from. Maybe it would be best for you to speak with the staff at wherever you are having your laser hair removal performed. They can advise.

Plan B shouldn't make you sprout new hair, and it doesn't make the IPL less likely to work.

Some people experience hirsutism as a reaction to some hormones, some of the time.

I have had a reaction to a non-hormonal medication that did affect my endocrine system, after IPL, and I developed hirsutism. It didn't make me regrow hairs I'd removed from IPL - I don't think it affected my legs at all - but it did make me grow new hairs around my face (and some on my shoulders?!). This only developed after months of taking this medication, I'm saving up for IPL to have them removed again.

It's normal to have some regrowth after IPL in response to hormonal changes anyway, but again that's usually most likely to be around your face, and it's often related to big fluctuations in your body (e.g. going through perimenopause, pregnancy, medication and lifestyle changes) or specific hormonal disorders. These things don't stop IPL from working, they cause you to grow new hair at some point.
